About the author

Beverly Ovalle dabbled with writing on and off for years when her best friend finally dared her to submit a story to a writing contest. Beverly decided she had nothing to lose and since she’d always wanted to be an author sent it in and agonized for months waiting to hear back. Contract in hand she has never looked back.
Beverly has been obsessed with dragons and romance since she was a young girl, collecting dragon books and reading everything she could find on them even down to the care of real life dragons. She’s always been slightly panicked that the world as we know it will end, so has prepped for it, haunting survivalist pages and prepper projects she felt she needed in the event SHTF.
An avid fan of all romance, Beverly’s goal is to share her love of the written word and write the hot and erotic romances that she enjoys. She writes what she loves to read and it was only a matter of time before her obsessions crept into her writing for her to share. She hopes you enjoy her tales as much as she loves writing them.
A Navy Veteran, Beverly has traveled around the world and the United States enabling her to bring her settings to life. Reading romances since the fourth grade she’s followed as the genre changed and spread into the vast cornucopia of romance offered today.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2015Ovalle has presented us with a new series. She has introduced us to Ari, a virile dragon/man in search of his mate. Hope, human trapper to feed the village, is attacked by wild dogs. Ari senses her injuries and searches with his brothers for his lifelong mate. The reader can be overwhelmed with the high level of eroticism in the the first half of the book but Ovalle tells a good story of dragons vs man and how they can learn to adapt. The humor throughout the story puts a smile on the readers face while it introduces the brothers and family members who will surely be in the next book. This is a can't-put-down story and leaves you wishing for more. Received this book in exchange of an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2020Stealing Hope was a fun book to read. People are starting over after the apocalypse and the dragons finally wake from their slumber. If you are looking for a steamy, comical, and fun book to read, check out this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2015I absolutely loved this story of Hope and Ari. I so hope that this is the beginning of a new series because I would love to read the stories of Ari's brothers and sisters finding their mates too.
I was only halfway through this story when I recommended it to someone else on The Wolf Pack group I belong to on facebook. And I am doing it here as well. If you love dragons and shifters you will definitely love this too. Ms. Ovalle has a way of writing page turners.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2024This story was an interesting read. But let me tell you about how it was written. As I started into the first chapter, I felt the author’s voice was drastically stilted and the sentence structure unvaried. The characters’ voices were quite simplistic and juvenile, and I thought that was due to the dragons newly hatching and their immaturity. I soon discovered that this was how the author writes, as the whole novel was in this limited, stilted speech, and when I came to the end of the novel, even her bibliography was written in basic, unvarying sentence structure. In the next paragraph of my review, you will get a sense of it.
Ari and his siblings hatch from their eggs. Ari and his siblings go out into the world to find their mates. Ari and his siblings seem to be naïve, but they have a vast knowledge they’ve acquired over the centuries, including how to stitch up wounds and make a poultice. Ari and his siblings have a playful relationship, and that soon becomes evident in their intimacy. Ari meets his mate, and romance happens. Ari and his mate find trouble back home when they have to convince her family he’s a descent guy.
So I don’t mean to cut on this author for her writing style, but I think readers should be aware of what they’re getting into, especially if they only read the first chapter and they think they have a bunch of juvenile hatchlings. The second note is, this is basically mundane, cliché partners being blantantly intimate with each other. The story beyond that is limited and unimaginable. But, I will concede that this might appeal to readers looking for a steamy read. I only finished it because I wanted to know just how the author was gong to wrap things up. I somehow didn’t hate the whole thing. And I gotta admit, I was intrigued by the dragon side of things. Had this been a clean fantasy read that focused on world building and not raw intimacy, and the author had honed her craft, it might have been truly remarkable.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2016I warmed up quickly to this family of dragons and I want more stories of not only Ari's Dragon brothers but also Hope's sister Faith and Great Aunt Sarah. The author brought such life to her characters not just the two main but all the secondary.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2017Quaking, waking, peril, heroic action, mating, laughter, teasing and fireballs for starters. Changing, learning how to fly and a little spitfire. All in one. I loved it and I know you will too.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2015Such a great story!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2016You never really expect a title lauded as Sci-Fi and Paranormal erotica to be laced with humor and family conflict, but Beverly Ovalle provides both in this dragon-laden story much to my delight.
A post-apocalyptic landscape is what this group of dragons awakes to find: now they must find their fated mates, and we are starting with Ari’s story. One of six, he not only contends with his search for love and happiness but some rather annoying (aren’t they always) siblings. Oh and the pranks and jibes these siblings participate in are further enhanced by the humor and dragon-specific elements entering the games. But, not to be too distracted by family and the changes in the world, Ari has scented his mate.
Hope is a human woman, injured and in need of rescue. Snatched from the jaws of wildlife by a dragon, she finds herself being nursed back to health by a group of brothers. But the one named Ari is ever so attentive.
These two are cute, but Ari doesn’t use the best judgement: knowing Hope is for him, their connection is instant and the sexual tension between the two is palpable. He knows she’s meant for him, and only him, and he’s marked her to keep her ‘safe’…but not telling her? Not a good choice. Fortunately, Hope isn’t one who holds a grudge, or things could have been very rocky for the couple.
I was laughing more than once, especially with the family dynamic – conversations are clever and the dialog feels natural and organic, you could imagine yourself in them. Not to be outdone, the sexy moments between Ari and Hope, and the ménage scene were wonderfully written, the steam just pours from these scenes. Sensual and emotionally available, both Hope and Ari are open and giving, and the possessive moments from Ari are rather like a two year old pouting in the corner: ineffective but adorable. A lovely story that provided far more intrigue, interest and enjoyment than I initially expected.
I received an eBook copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

5.0 out of 5 stars I’m not letting you go. 5 GOLD DRAGON SCALES
There was no way she was giving him up. And I am NEVER giving up Beverly or her Dragons! HOLY DRAGON FIRE! This is one FLAMETASTIC HOT ROMANCE DRAGON OF A STORY! And SQUEEEEE! I have been pestering Beverly for more Dragons ever since I read Dragons’ Mate but I never expected it to be this FREAKING DRAGONTACULAR!!! It was so worth the wait, let me tell you! I ABSO-FANG-LUTELY love, Love, LOVE this story!! I can see it being at the top of many scales for months & months! And if my hoping & wishing & dreaming comes true, this is the first of at least 6 Dragon books!!! Please tell me I'm right Beverly! Each of Ari's hatchlings need a story so they can find their mates, too! And of course, I want, no NEED to be there with them!! As you can tell, I am sooooo in love with EVERYTHING in this story! Except for one part that creeped me out …at first ...until I realized WHY it happened and then I actually thought it was kind of more special, keeping it in the family, so to speak! Puns 100% intended! There are so many features that worked together to hold me captive from the cover to those two little words that I hate – THE END! Thankfully Beverly gives us lots of story here! AND WOW! There IS a lot of DRAGONTASTIC story to hold me enraptured, let me tell you!! There is a LOT of humor, hot stuff, mates, annoying hatch-mates, family, sibling and dragon shenanigans, just to give you a hint of what’s inside waiting for you. I think that the world that Beverly created here is FANGTASTIC! I love what is known and not known by everyone regarding the world they live in. and I couldn’t help but burst out laughing at Hope’s Grandma’s antics! Ari is one HOT, sexy and protective Dragon! As for Hope, well she is hilarious no matter what shape she is in! hmmmm, I wonder if were to get bite & cornered by wild dogs & cats if MY mate would come & rescue me? Might be worth the pain from the bites and the extensive research to figure out the best spot for that to happen! :) There is so much more I want to say about how hilarious it is and just why I love Hope so much, but I don’t want to spoil any part of it! I am so thrilled that I have “discovered” Beverly! I have read a few of her books now and have LOVED every single one! She is phenomenally talented and combined with her genuine gift, every books she writes is a creative, unique and SHIFTACULAR MASTERPIECE!!
