About the author

Whatever type of romance you love to read, Deborah Camp writes it! From sweet to sexy, contemporary to historical.
Author of more than 50 romances, both contemporary and historical, Deborah received the very first Janet Dailey Award (given to a romance novel that best addressed a social problem). "My Wild Rose" dealt with battered women and children in 1800s with Carrie Nation as a character in the novel. "Solitary Horseman" won a Rone Award from In d'Tale Magazine.
Her books have been praised by reviewers, bloggers, and readers who love complex characters and clever plotting. She always mixes in a bit of humor, even in her romantic suspense novels.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2021A nice play on words in the title. Dalton Moon is not a man easily roped... He is a man to be reckoned with though with his fast draw and steadfast view on the law and keeping people on the right side of it. He is not welcomed by all in the town of Far Creek. Some want him to clean up the town and others wish for keeping the peace by playing along with the Pullman family. Lacy Tyler is not sure which side of the fence she on because of her loyalty to her uncle Otis, the longstanding marshal. He warned the townsfolk that things would get worse before they got better... and he was right. A great read in the early West where the railroad was still being built and was causing ranchers to part with their land. Deborah Camp writes well and created a good plot. Her characters are diverse and interesting and I enjoyed reading this story very much.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2023This is a love story if there ever was one. You will absolutely fall in love with both of these characters. Lacy is a strong, opinionated, beautiful young woman. Dalton is a handsome young Marshall that travels from one town to another to help in small towns overcome crime and help them to be able to live in peace again. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2020Ropin the Moon by Deborah Camp. I enjoyed the storyline. The characters are believable . It's a western drama with suspense. The romance has a bit of Spice.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2019Lacy Tyler had good reason to resent the new marshal brought in to clean up the town. His presence meant her beloved Uncle Otis had failed in his job as deputy sheriff. Besides, Dalton Moon isn’t the kind of man to settle for home and hearth so why is she so drawn to him?
From first glance, Dalton knew Lacy was like no other woman he’d ever met. But he also knew she wasn’t the kind of lady a wandering man like him should get involved with. Better to keep his mind on his job, teaching the local cattle baron to mind the law and accept the coming railroad.
Despite Lacy and Dalton knowing better, they just can’t help themselves. They learn they belong together.
Ms. Camp always delivers a good story, but this time she’s outdone herself. It is clear from the first meeting, these two people are well-matched. Far beyond they are both very attractive people; the passion between them sizzles on the page.
So grab a cup of tea, snuggle down, and enjoy a story that will leave with a satisfying sigh of contentment.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2021Ropin’ the Moon is an intriguing western historical. Lacy’s uncle is town marshal until Dalton is hired over him. This results in higher tensions and several deaths, shootings, and beatings. The plot keeps you interested. Very enjoyable.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2024This book was a very entertaining. I loved the characters and how they reacted to each other. It was a great read.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2020This is a good story about a strong independent woman and finally a man who understands her and wouldn't change a thing about her. The time period is the changing west, and a lawless land baron rancher who violently stands in the way of progress.
Part love story with a healthy dose of mystery and wrangling ranges outlaws, with hints of raw realities of life at that time.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2021What it takes to rope this Moon is almost as revealing as it was for Jimmy Stewart. A good guy in a tough situation and a woman who loves him anyway, great reading.

This author writes with authenticity and passion , sometimes a little too much detail for my personal taste, but many will really love it.
