Ropin' the Moon Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 115 ratings

He had tumbleweed in his blood, moving from one town to the next. Traveling to where there was trouble, he was hired to tame wild places with a fast draw and an iron will.

Lacy knew that Dalton wouldn’t be around long and she shouldn’t be tempted by him. But like the moon, his pull on her was a natural, powerful force that she was helpless to resist.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Dalton Moon. He's a swoon worthy hero if I do say so myself! He's all law and order and swagger and sex appeal. I had a wonderful time writing this western. It has bad guys, hired guns, murders, mayhem, and lots of flirting and spooning. From the moment Dalton rides into town, the action keeps going at a fast clip. Find a comfortable chair and get ready to meet (and fall for) Marshal Moon.

Title: Ropin' the Moon Author: Deborah Camp Publisher: D.C. Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Four Review: "Ropin' the Moon" by Deborah Camp My Rationalization: This was quite a western historical fiction romance story that featured Dalton Moon and Lacey Tyrell. We find Dalton had come to this town as town Marshall to get it back on the right track after it had been run over by some ruthless that bullied people mainly the Pullman's and his crew. The previous deputy sheriff [Lacy's uncle] had failed at this job so now Dalton was now there to clean up the town from all the riffraff that was going on. What will happen when Dalton first sees Lacey as he is riding into this historic Old West town of Far Creek on his trusty steed, Solder and finds out that Lacey is not only beautiful but spirited and not afraid to let one know her opinion? What will happen as there seems to be a conflict between the ranchers and the railroad? How will this conflict come out in the end with a story with plenty of suspense, murder, beatings, shootings, and adventure along with a touch of romance with feelings that will spark between the two Dalton and Lacey? I will say I didn't care much for the heroine at first but she did warm up somewhat at the end. Now, for Lacy's uncle Otis I still didn't care much for him and his girlfriend. For most of the story, I did find most of the characters convincing and engaging which did help give the reader an entertaining read. To get all of these questions answered to this well-written story with 'drama, lots of action, love,' and so much more you will have to pick up "Ropin' the Moon' to see how everything comes out.

A nice play on words in the title. Dalton Moon is not a man easily roped... He is a man to be reckoned with though with his fast draw and steadfast view on the law and keeping people on the right side of it. He is not welcomed by all in the town of Far Creek. Some want him to clean up the town and others wish for keeping the peace by playing along with the Pullman family. Lacy Tyler is not sure which side of the fence she on because of her loyalty to her uncle Otis, the longstanding marshal. He warned the townsfolk that things would get worse before they got better... and he was right. A great read in the early West where the railroad was still being built and was causing ranchers to part with their land. Deborah Camp writes well and created a good plot. Her characters are diverse and interesting and I enjoyed reading this story very much.

This is a love story if there ever was one. You will absolutely fall in love with both of these characters. Lacy is a strong, opinionated, beautiful young woman. Dalton is a handsome young Marshall that travels from one town to another to help in small towns overcome crime and help them to be able to live in peace again. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.

Ropin the Moon by Deborah Camp. I enjoyed the storyline. The characters are believable . It's a western drama with suspense. The romance has a bit of Spice.

Lacy Tyler had good reason to resent the new marshal brought in to clean up the town. His presence meant her beloved Uncle Otis had failed in his job as deputy sheriff. Besides, Dalton Moon isn’t the kind of man to settle for home and hearth so why is she so drawn to him?

From first glance, Dalton knew Lacy was like no other woman he’d ever met. But he also knew she wasn’t the kind of lady a wandering man like him should get involved with. Better to keep his mind on his job, teaching the local cattle baron to mind the law and accept the coming railroad.

Despite Lacy and Dalton knowing better, they just can’t help themselves. They learn they belong together.

Ms. Camp always delivers a good story, but this time she’s outdone herself. It is clear from the first meeting, these two people are well-matched. Far beyond they are both very attractive people; the passion between them sizzles on the page.

So grab a cup of tea, snuggle down, and enjoy a story that will leave with a satisfying sigh of contentment.

Ropin’ the Moon is an intriguing western historical. Lacy’s uncle is town marshal until Dalton is hired over him. This results in higher tensions and several deaths, shootings, and beatings. The plot keeps you interested. Very enjoyable.

This is a good story about a strong independent woman and finally a man who understands her and wouldn't change a thing about her. The time period is the changing west, and a lawless land baron rancher who violently stands in the way of progress.
Part love story with a healthy dose of mystery and wrangling ranges outlaws, with hints of raw realities of life at that time.

What it takes to rope this Moon is almost as revealing as it was for Jimmy Stewart. A good guy in a tough situation and a woman who loves him anyway, great reading.
