- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2023I try to alway give my honest opinion for the story I’ve read and this book is no different. The first chapter or two I almost stopped reading, but something told me to read just a bit more. Then I was hooked. There is so much adventure and excitement in York and Justine’s story you’ll not want to stop reading. It is certainly not the usual tale but it’s a duzzie. I promise you love discovering how York and Justine find their happily ever after.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2018I'm not going to give a description of the book, because the blurb says it all.
I absolutely LOVED Jussie! She is a real firecracker and has a very sharp tongue. She doesn't back down and she is not afraid to challenge anyone -- even the Count. She also takes charge of any situation. She actually thinks she can outwit York but there is this one scene in the beginning of the book -- just after they met -- where I laughed out loud when York turned the tables on her 😂. That didn't happen again and she showed that she actually can outwit people.
I really like the women in Deborah Camp's books, because they are all strong, feisty/spunky women. That is what keeps me reading the books. I recommend this book to all who love historical romance with some mystery.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2023Romance? Mystery? The OK Corral? Yes! Add a dash of some historical cowboy favorites and you have one amazingly refreshing book!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2018Why did I wait so long to read this book. Having read many of this author's series, this book had escaped me and I've spent the last couple days reading this wonderful story. It is the old west in Tombstone at it's best! The characters of Wyatt, Doc Holliday, China Mary and all the other meaningful people, were joined by Far East, which made it great. York and Jussie kept life interesting and life threatening. The many saloons and "entertainment centers" of various kinds, made me smile. There's even a bit of Pinkerton in the book. It's a terrific story with sensual moments that are written to perfection. Thanks for an entertaining book.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2020I love Deborah Camp's books. I won't go into great detail. The blurb says it all. Jussie was really something, a woman who speaks her mind but just needs to listen before speaking. I liked the intertwining of Tombstone Characters. Very Romantic.
