About the author

Neil McGowan grew up in Yorkshire before travelling extensively whilst working on military aircraft. In 2006 he decided to change career and became a teacher in the prison service, where he taught engineering and graphic design. He is a prolific author of short fantasy and horror fiction, some stories of which were brought together in the collection 'Don't Drink the Water.' 'The Surgeon' was his first novel, followed by vampire thriller 'Nanobite' and 'The Loch', set on the banks of Loch Ness. He has also published numerous short stories in magazines and anthologies. He now lives with his family on the east coast of Scotland, and is hard at work on his new novel.

I'm not a big reader, mainly because I get bored or inpatient but I really enjoyed this story, it kept me entertained throughout with a twist at the end, not to mention a bit of spice on the way. I would recommend this book to my friends.
