Planet Of The Eggs: Mummified Egg Kindle Edition
My story, when I encounter the Mummified Egg, is not a pretty one. Come with me now. Follow my adventures and that of my five fellow heroic travelers as we escape the walls of Shadowgate . Join us as our superpowers grow and reveal themselves. Discover a new sandy land, a place of unexpected partnerships and enemies beset with danger.
As Nightfist so elegantly put it, the vast desert landscape is filled with danger, and one battle he must fight alone. The Eggland Sorcerer, Loki, long thought dead, plies his mind-twisting abilities on Nightfist.
This third book in the Planet Of The Eggs series transports the Reader first to a desert oasis protected by a flock of Ostrich lead by a far-seeing Meerkat and then on to a remote pyramid.
Fun, adventure and skirmishes abound as Nighfist, Twilight Sala, Cyrus, Skink and Smudge continue their escapades

Hello, my dear followers and friends,
this is the third part of the "Planet of the Eggs" series called Mummified Egg.
The prophesied eggs are pulled from the portal in Shadowgate into the desert.
The cover: On the front, you can see Nightfist with a bow and arrow and next to him Loki (Doesn't the name reminds you of some Nordic God ;)), the mummified egg. Behind them are Egyptian pillars with hieroglyphs on them. (They remind me a lot of the Egyptian pillars in Luxor).
On the back is depicted a camel in the desert. On the right is a scroll which reveals the summary of the story.
The comic begins with the expected six eggs heroes in a desert cave who search for a new portal home. Cyrus has the ability to summon suitable maps from thin air. They need water so he gains a map with the available water sources in close proximity.
After they found water, Sala tries to cast a spell with the help of the Grimoire book of spells. However Sala raises a sandstorm instead of a camel and out of it walks a garwolf. Even so the garwolf is harmless and they name him Gar.
All at a sudden, Bloodblink, the treacherous snake, turns up. He stuffed himself in the medical bag Twilight carries because the sun is too hot for Bloodblink.
Soon after the Keepers of the Oasis, a group of ostriches, show up before Nightfist and Smudge and offer food.
Without warning, an earthquake erupts all worlds. It was predicted by an Eggland myth that the forces of darkness will surge the world.
In Eggland, meanwhile, Parker's fate is discussed by the council of magic. Parker, who is Eight Hooter's younger brother, went to the last adventure with the foretold eggs, though he should have stayed at the castle.
Be that as it may, Parker explains his reasons: that he only did his duty and protected the eggs against the dragon.
For this, Parker receives the medal of the cracked eggs, a medal of bravery.
A new earthquake occurs.
In the evening, the predicted eggs find the meerkat seer Eyes. Simultaneously Nightfist hears a voice named Loki, which draws him to Loki.
Nonetheless Eyes warns against the dangerous egg Loki, who is a mummified trickster and imprisoned.
"If Loki goes free, darkness will expand its powers."
What will happen to the prophesied eggs?
Will they find the portal?
What will Nightfist decide: listen to the dark voice or to his friends?

First of all, spoiler alert. The heroes are spat out of a mysterious vortex, find and nearly defeat a mummy though rather mysterious and nonsensical plot points and then get sucked into another vortex. That about sums it up.
To the positive, the author is wonderfully unfettered by the bounds of conventionality. Further, the illustrations are rich and colorful. I say illustrations, they appear to be photos cut out and arranged over each other to create the graphical components.
To the negative, my 10-year-old daughter looked at it and refused to have anything to do with it. Given that the target age range is 8-18 this seems a pretty grim condemnation. If I had paid money for this I would be pretty annoyed. The plot is weak and essentially follows the same lines as a few hundred identical books including the previous two. The particular details of the plot are bizarrely confusing as the eggs travel without legs and obtain whatever items happen to be needed out of nowhere. I understand that it's intended to be a children's book but even children need connected series of events to make sense of the action.
To sum up, my kids were EXTREMELY unimpressed. It's obvious the authors have put a great deal of work into this book but it seems that the execution is almost rushed and never quite came together.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2016Quite entertaining, with colorful illustrations. As a children's book, it pulled off a lot of stops along the way to become believable - and as most comic novels go, it has a nice little lesson about the triumph of good over evil. I think that suffices. 4.5 stars and bravo!
