When it comes to writing passionate Black love that jumps off the page and into readers’ hearts, Aja’s pen is a leader in the game. To date, she’s written and self-published over 30 books that offer an escape into Black love stories that center sensual, sexy, and erotic experiences. The winner of BRAB's 2020 Beverly Jenkins Author of The Year and 2022 Brenda Jackson Romance of The Year awards uses her life experience and persuasive storytelling talent to construct characters and situations that showcase the best Black love can be and offer. In the pages of her books, you’ll find relatable characters that seduce you with their intense chemistry that Aja seamlessly blends into soul-stirring romances.

The Pittsburgh native is a full-time writer with the mind and patience that allows her to maintain a life of constant study. Life is her biggest teacher. Through self-study and persistent observation of others, Aja finds the human thread that connects us all. That relatability is a reoccurring tenet of her award-winning books. Time spent reading any of her narratives is underscored by deep feelings of love and connection because love isn’t just her brand; it’s who she is. Black love advocacy is the central theme on every page she writes because Aja believes Black love is shaped and defined by Black people’s many trials and tribulations. Her Black-on-Black characters love the way they do, not because of what they’ve endured, but in spite of it.

Aja doesn’t just write about love; she lives it every day. She’s familiar with the passion, intensity, and sensuality that readers yearn for, and that’s why her books leave a powerful, lasting mark on readers’ minds. Title: She's Got SoulAuthor: AjaPublisher: She Loves Words PublishingSeries: Soulmates Book 1Reviewed By: Arlena DeanRating: FourReview:"She's Got Soul" by AjaMy Rationalization:What an entertaining read this romantic story was that featured Zora and Khalil. I liked how well this author brought these two together with their various businesses where they often agreed along with disagreeing at times which brought on some 'funny, witty, intellectual, conflict, sexy romance, and insightful times.' You will see from the read that these two were definitely 'Soulmates.' By the end, the reader gets a sweet story with some well-developed characters that give us a good story.

Aja’s uncanny ability to weave, love, mystery and thrills is absolute PERFECTION!!!! I’ve read the entire soul ties series and just cannot put my device. Her storytelling gift is poetic and stellar. She along with a dozen more black authors are magnificent at their craft and I look forward to reading all they have. This series in particular is breathtaking. Keeps you wondering how deep the gifts of the characters go and how their gifts effects their lives good or bad. The stories keeps you at the edge of your seat and allows you the opportunity to have self reflection and looking at life from different perspectives. I think that is what makes books that more special. It’s not only entertaining but for some helpful! Keep up the fantastic work Aja!

Zola and Khalil are the perfect professional, and romantic match. They are two single talented souls destined to be together, except they're not so sure of the odds of any of that happening. Not at first. It seems sudden, a little too straightforward. Maybe a bit too good to be true? But luck has definitely shined on these two. Their path to love is a slow awakening to the twists and turns that underpin the surety of their love, and their unique soulful connection. The reader is sucked in from the 'get-go', enjoying the 'stumbling-upon' podcast banter, the immediacy of the romantic connection with the synchronicity that follows; all underpinned by some hot sexual chemistry. Aja delivers again is all I have to say. 'She's Got Soul' is an unswerving 'getting-to-know' sexy romance, a novel with fully fleshed out characters, rich in backstory and a shifting plot to suit, a plot which keeps the reader's interest and enjoyment piqued throughout. A very cool read! Another soulful installment from a writer who tells it from the heart.

Imagine thinking your differences meant that you were incompatible...just to find out that that is the attraction. Nothing new here, this story is like that. It was a long short story, it took a moment to get into it, but worth reading.

The story was simple, but I still loved it. It progressed in a very realistic way. The two main characters are mature, so no petty drama in this book. I did which there was more drama however. I love how the author writes.

The book was an enjoyable read. The two times they “argued “ were Zola’s fault in my mind. How can she be upset he didn’t lead with I’m a multimillionaire? That would have been really conceited and he’s a man first before the money. She didn’t want to say where she worked either. On top of that he took her to a million dollar home so clearly he is wealthy and not hiding it. The thing about the dead air after the I love you, she was wrong. She should have called him back as she was the one who didn’t answer. If she’s such a secure woman she shouldn’t have any problems with doing that. The book was about them but I miss seeing them in a public setting, interacting with friends and family, having to deal with couple’s issues before jumping into marriage.
