A Kiss for the Earl (The Prince & the Impostor Book 3) Kindle Edition
Once upon a time, Alexandra Grace Huntington believed in fairy tales. She oohed and aahed over gowns from Courtauld’s, never wore black lest in mourning, always minded her social graces, and never, ever indulged her inner bluestocking. Now her life is a mess. She’s home alone for the holidays, alone, no siblings, no friends, and not a shred of pride remaining. But that’s all well and good, so far as Alex is concerned, because everything she once knew was all wrong. When she’s unexpectedly invited to celebrate one last holiday with her best friend, she can’t accept quickly enough… only how did one comport oneself after scandal rocks one's life?
Benjamin W. Wentworth III, the seventh Earl of Highbury, has been through his own travails. He drove his family to ruin, and now, after spending weeks in debtor’s prison because of Alexandra Huntington's father, and coming shockingly close to losing his life and endangering his sister, he realizes that all that glitters is simply not gold. The last thing he desires is to saddle himself with a woman like Alexandra, with whom he once shared a passion for the Season. Ben would rather choke himself with a silk cravat than to endure an instant with someone so vain, so self-indulgent, so giddy and witless. He but wishes his sister would leave off with the holiday matchmaking—didn't she realize how much he has changed?
When Lexie arrives to celebrate one last holiday before his sister leaves for Meridian, it is all Ben can do to avoid the empty-headed chit. Unfortunately, his sister and her friends have festooned the entire house with mistletoe, and to make matters worse, Lexie appears to have become someone else entirely.
Can a change of life and heart lead to a second chance for childhood sweethearts?

- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2020Who knew Queen Victoria was Alexandria Victoria with the nickname of Drina?! Just found out in this book. My guess is that she took the name of Victoria because it was more English.
Anyway, the book spent little time on the princes or their parents, and concentrated on Alexandra and Ben, the best friend and brother of the future Queen, when the father of Merrick and Ian would abdicate in favor of Ian. I was a bit disappointed, but the book still answered questions.

I've always enjoy reading about the lives and their living conditions back in those days. Happy that ours have improved! Thanks for writing these interesting stories.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2020Alexandra's friends have melted away like snow since her father was caught and put in goal for life. Her two closest friends Ben and Claire had been swindled, abused and kidnapped by her very own father. Ben had had been unfairly stripped of all his money and locked in prison. Claine had been kidnapped and almost molested. Alexandra had not seen either of them since her father's arrest. They had made no effort to see her and she was too ashamed to see them. Finally Claire invited her to spend 2 weeks during Christmas with her before her wedding. Alexandra is so happy but Ben blames her for what her father did and is not happy to see her at all. Worse Claire wants her to be First Bridesmaid and wants Ben to bring her to Ian's Castle for the wedding. But can they get along long enough for such a trip.
Her father had kidnapped her closest friend Claire and ruined hrr
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2021A think line between love and hate. Happy and sad. Love and needed to be loved and fogiven.I like discovering the mystery. Tells of the mistole by steps and instructions and the different version of the song. Making of pudding and beverage for any occasion. Good read as always. The realization of love when you are so angry and sad at the same time. Love, marriage weddings and babies. Love every where. Don't let anger stop you from being happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy read
This the last of a 3 book series I had to read, simply to finish the whole story. I did enjoy it and although I noticed a mistake or two that got past the proof reader it didn't spoil my enjoyment.

This book should be read after A Crown for a Lady or the reader will be at a loss. Alexandra/Lexi has been in love with her best friend’s brother for years but the villainous actions of her father has caused a rift between their families. Can a Christmas house party help them heal and rediscover their love?
Shame about the typos and American food.
