Shot on Goal: Game On in Seattle (Seattle Sockeyes Book 7) Kindle Edition
Two talented skaters. Two bright futures. Two shining stars. One ruined by a career-ending scandal and another by a father's ruthless ambition.
Marina Sanders was the darling of the winter games, winning a bronze in figure skating one week after losing both parents in a car accident. Four years later, she was the most hated woman in America.
Drew Delacorte was the future of the Sockeyes hockey team, crowned the best young player in the league and heir-apparent to the hockey throne once occupied by his father. Only Drew doesn't want that throne. Despite being in the prime of his career, he's considering hanging up his skates.
Together they're fire and ice, and when things get that hot, they melt. Can these two broken souls find comfort and courage in each other's arms or will they find only pain and regret?

About the author

USA Today bestselling author Jami Davenport writes sexy contemporary, new adult, and sports romances, including Gone Missing, Seattle Sockeyes, The Scoring Series, and the Portland Icehawks.
Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Army Ranger-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland drool monster, and two demanding tabby cats.
Jami worked in IT for years and is also a former high school business teacher but recently achieved a life-long dream of being a full-time author. A horse lover since birth, Jami showed dressage horses for over thirty years. Now she gardens and goes glamping, along with other travelling adventures. She's a lifetime Seahawks and Mariners fan, a proud season ticket holder for the Seattle Kraken, and still misses her SuperSonics. An avid boater, Jami has spent countless hours in the San Juan Islands, a common setting in her books. In her opinion, it's the most beautiful place on earth.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2018What happens when an ex-figure skating princess and a future hockey hall of famer meet? You can feel the heat through the screen/pages while you read.
Marina Sanders had won an Olympic bronze medal in figure skating just a short time after her parents died in a car accident. At the next winter games all of that fan love came crashing down on her when some events happened causing not just her but other skaters from missing the podium. She ran to Europe for awhile and had hoped it would all be behind her when she accepted a temporary contract with the Seattle Sockeyes hockey team. She would be working with each player as a skating coach in an attempt to gain an edge while the team was hoping to not only make it but win the Stanley Cup. Would it help her gain confidence in herself back and realize not everyone hated her anymore?
Drew Delacorte didn't love hockey anymore, in fact he almost hated it. He wanted to find that love again, the fun of playing, the excitement of passing and the thrill of scoring a goal, those things were gone now. The pressure of his father (former NHL player) being verbally abusive in his attempt to push Drew to play better and the guilt of his brother dying while saving him had made him lose it all. One night he went to the rink to skate and was at first upset Marina was there at all. But by the end of the night he was glad she had been because she brought a little bit of light back into his game. How would he handle finding out she was now a part of the team and that would mean she was off limits....or was she?
Little did either of them realize how much of a connection they had when they were together both on and off the ice. Marina would help Drew find the hockey passion again and stand up to his father while Drew would help Marina find herself and know she could fall in love. The problem was they couldn't let Drew's parents find out, let alone the rest of the players and staff. For if they did as quick as the flame between them ignited, it could easily be snuffed.
Another game winner for Jami Davenport with this book. Her ability to take basic words and put them into a book that you do not want to put down is almost as magically as the book itself. This is a book that you will not be disappointed in at all.
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2018When reading Jami Davenport’s Sockeye Series you can’t help thinking that this team is real and you can’t help feel you want to see this team reach the pinnacle of success.
Drew Delacorte is a player with The Sockeyes not feeling like a man on the brink of playing on a team that can win the Cup. He is a man at a crossroads playing not for himself but for his overbearing parents and his deceased brother but when the team hires a disgraced former figure skater to there staff he can’t help feel that Marina Sanders can be his cure for it all.
Marina Sanders a disgraced Olympic Figure Skating champion has come back to the states with the hope of correcting her wrongs and moving forward with her life given the opportunity to work for the Sockeyes is her first step. Meeting Drew Delacorte wasn’t suppose to happen but he has and it makes things complicated in a good kind of way.
Drew & Marina can’t help feeling the feelings they have the chemistry is off the charts whenever they are near each other but can they overcome all the obstacles to be together or do they go there separate ways. All you hope as you turn each page that these two people can find a way to get not only what they want out of their careers but also to find that HEA.

I so enjoy Jami Davenport's Game On In Seattle series and Shot on Goal was no exception.
Drew Delacorte is one talent hockey player, one on a team that is having an amazing year, but he's also a very unhappy hockey player. He doesn't have the passion and love of the game that he used to. He's basically playing for other people and not for himself and his own enjoyment. He's trying to carry on a family tradition, one that he feels a great deal of pressure to keep alive.
Marina Sanders had Olympic figure skating gold in her sights, but a wrong decision led to her downfall, leaving her in disgrace causing her to flee the country. Now she's back and trying to move forward with her life and becoming the skating coach for the Seattle Sockeyes might just be the way to do that.
Since Drew and Marina are both involved with the Sockeyes, the fact that their chemistry is off the charts when they meet is less than ideal. They really can't be involved due to the fraternization rules within the team, but the pull is so strong will they be able to fight their attraction?
This was a fantastic addition to the series and one that I did not want to put down. All I wanted to do was keep reading to see if these two individuals were going to not only find happiness in their professional lives, but also in their personal lives. Kudos to Jami Davenport for another awesome read!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2018Love love love! I was very late to the “Jami Davenport Game”! I came across Book 1 in the Game On Series on May 5th and finished reading all 10 books around May 20th! I got spoiled by having so many books readily available, that I was a little upset I had to wait 4 months for Book 11! It was worth the wait! I love how each character in the series has a completely different personality and how the stories are not predictable! I loved Shot on Goal and read it in about a day and a half! I couldn’t put it down! Great book by a talented author! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2018Wow what a book. I have read all of this authors sports Romance books and this is absolutely my favorite. It has the right amount of actions, drama and romance. The characters are superb. I sense spin off series from this book. If I remember right the PI business was mentioned previously. Jami has an incredible skill when it comes to intertwining characters of different backgrounds and different phases in life. The characters Drew and Marina are beautiful characters looking for a direction in which to follow. Jami’s style of writing makes you see and feel these characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forbidden love 💕
Drew has been in a hockey slump for months and he doesn’t know how to get out of it and isn’t sure he cares. He feels he’s playing hockey for all the wrong reasons and not for the love of the sport! When Marina enters his life he goes from numb to alive but there are numerous reasons why they can’t be together and one of them is because she’s his coach...yikes. This however, doesn’t stop the attraction they have to one another and eventually they succumb, but will it have disastrous consequences or will they be able to move together towards a future they both want? A must not be missed book in this series:)
Fantastic read and looking forward to the Gone Missing series!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars for Shot on Goal by Jami Davenport
I couldn't put this down. Had to read in a day. Drew and Marina are hot hot together. I hope that is not the last for these characters. Thank you for the Sockeyes winning the cup. We need to catch up with all of the Sockeyes family.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth a read
Shot on goal
I had never actually read any of the other books in the series even though this is an 11. It can easily be classed as a stand-alone.
This really pulled at my heart strings. Drew is a hockey player that doesn’t want to play hockey.
Marina Sanders was the darling of the winter games, winning a bronze in figure skating one week after losing both parents in a car accident. Four years later, she was the most hated woman in America. After making a dreadful mistake and ruining her chances and the chance of another Olympic hopeful. Much to the disappointment of her coach ( Drew’s mum).
After 4 years of teaching skating in Europe she returns to the USA to help coach the sockeyes. She is asked to coach drew to help him regain his mojo as his future with the team is in question. As well as this they are having to work on a couple figure skating routine.
The way the author has written the characters is fabulous and makes you truly route for them.
I went through a heap of emotions when reading this.
Can they help each other to be happy again?
Also I am having to read all the others now to catch up.
