Goaltending: Game On in Seattle (Seattle Sockeyes Book 4) Kindle Edition
Martin "Brick" Bricker is living the good life. He's playing the sport he loves, has all the women he can handle, and parties like a rock star. At twenty-six, he has no interest in slowing down or taking anything seriously —except hockey, of course. Then a knock at his door changes everything. Suddenly he's the single father to a five-year-old daughter he didn't know he had, and he's trading his playboy ways for Barbies.
Amelia Stacey struggles to make ends meet and juggles her day-care job with a full load of college classes. When she's offered a temporary, two-week nanny position making more money than she imagines, she jumps at the chance. Before she knows it, she's in over her head, not just with her five-year-old charge but with the girl's hot single father. Brick always goes after what he wants, and he wants Amelia. Only responsible Amelia doesn't want anything to do with the party boy.
Struggling with fatherhood and his unexplainable attraction to his nanny, Brick has to figure out where his daughter and Amelia fit into his life. If they fit at all. But one thing's for sure: Brick can't block this shot straight to his heart.

Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Army Ranger-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland drool monster, and two demanding tabby cats.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2017Jami Davenport brings us back into the world of Seattle Sockeye Hockey and we get the story of Goaltender Martin "Brick" Bricker and Amelia Stacey.
Brick is the teams goaltender but he also is one of the teams playboys. Different women all the time, commitment phobe and just an all around good time guy. But what he never expects is to find standing on his doorstep is the most adorable little girl.
Amelia Stacey college student, daycare worker and a woman trying to move on from a past she is not proud of. But when Brick walks into the daycare her life changes in an instant.
Brick & Amelia have a common interest that is they both are taken with Macy. Amelia instantly, But Brick kicking and screaming. Can one little girl reach into their hearts and heal them both.
This story will pull on your heartstrings from the minute Macy shows up in the story. You will see the struggles that the three of them go through but you will also be cheering them on with every turn of the page. But the one thing is for sure is that this story will leave you not only with hope but with a smile on your face.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2018Brick is a playboy goalie for the Seattle Sockeyes and only has 2 things on his mind, women and blocking shots on goal. Having grown up shuttled between 2 parents he quickly realized he needs to shut it all down and run on autopilot. He doesn’t need anything or anyone steady in his life, he’d just let them down. Ding Dong a doorbell one morning changes all he has ever thought or known about himself.
Amelia loves kids, she helps out at her sister in law’s day care, well technically her SIL owns it but Amelia does all the work. She is fairly convinced her dear SIL is cheating on her brother but lacking any solid evidence she just keeps her eyes open. Trying to figure out how to make some extra cash becomes a whole lot easier when a very sexy, albeit chauvinistic, man needs a live in nanny for 2 weeks.
Brick, Ameila and Macy fall very quickly into family mode though Brick still doubts he could be a decent father to his surprise daughter. It takes everything Amelia has to keep this sinking ship afloat. Can she finally convince Brick he has what it takes to take care of them both?
This was my first read by this author and overall it was pretty good. There were some times I felt the story fluffed a little but aside from Brick’s teenager hormone driven speeches sometimes, it flowed well. I will definitely check out the rest of the books in the Game On in Seattle series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2017OMG I loved it eventually lol! I have to say that throughout the book Brick just ticked me off and I wanted to slap him upside the head and say wake up...grow up! There were brief periods where he would show a great hero but then he would go back to being clueless! As far as Amelia, I think that she was kind of harsh at times but she certainly had Brick's number and didn't take his crap. I almost cried for Macy because she had lost EVERYTHING but also seemed to have a daddy that wanted to love her but was just so scared.
This is just an awesome book and at the end I wanted it to go on and on because I fell in love with the grown up Brick became and how he really stepped up with Macy...he became a good dad but he wasn't without his faults.
I was offered an ARC copy of this book for an honest review which I believe I have gave. This is not a typical hockey romance book and in some ways will surprise you...take the chance to read it and you will fall in love with this little family.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2019This book reads okay not spectacularly and you almost expect the ending. Did I feel their love ? Not really but I sure felt their lust. The author was repetitive and often times put action such as wiping sweat in unnecessary excess. My favorite part of the book was the hero’s daughter Macy. Sweet and exactly how you would expect a child. I like Amelia more than Brick. There was some redemption in the story worth readying about but some editing is necessary. Liked this story better than Isaac and Avery in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2017I absolutely hated Brick when this story started. By the end of the book I felt sorry for the poor sap. Having read the other books in the series I have followed Brick as the guy who hates clothes and loves the cold. I learned why in this book and was surprised to say the least as to why he loves the cold. Jami delivered a book I couldn't put down even with life happening around me. Amelia and Macy were introduced in the this read. My heart hurt for Macy from the time Brick opened the door to her. Amelia is such a strong person to have kept this little clan together. Definitely going on my read again list! Thank you Jami for the hours of reading and enjoyment this book brought.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2019This book was different from most secret baby books. Brick was a goaltender in the NHL and was quite a partier and playboy. So when a young girl arrived claiming to be his daughter he didn't want to believe it. Hiring Amelia as a nanny was a good move on his part. He thought it would just be for a couple of weeks until the DNA results proved the child wasn't his. Surprise! He's a daddy.
As Brick always did with women, he hit on Amelia. She wasn't having it though and shut him down fast. But could she keep saying no to him? I didn't like the party guy Brick was at first. He was self-centred and egotistical. It took a while but he finally grew up and took on a parent's responsibilities. There were times I sympathized with him as he struggled through his life-changing journey. Macy didn't make it easy for him though. She was a typical 5-year-old. Happy and nice one minute then a brat the next.
I liked this story. My heart broke for Macy having gone through the loss of her mother so young. There were many humourous scenes. Many with Brick learning to be a father and several with his teammates. Adding a happy ending makes Goaltending a book I recommend to romance fans. Especially if you like children in your stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Enjoyed It!
I really enjoyed Brick and Amelia’s story. While there is insta-lust, it’s not insta-love. Instead it’s a journey of discovery for Brick as he learns to become the man he never thought he’d be and Amelia learns that love is real. A couple of sexy time scenes but lots of anticipation and chemistry. Look forward to reading more in the series

5.0 out of 5 stars Facing his life goals!
As my first read by Jami Davenport, and first hockey game read too, I might say I was captivated.
Even with a bad cold, I was captivated by Amelia and Martin story and if you add an adorable little Macy, it is a perfect book for a winter day.
Both has issues, Martin’s are more about self esteem and accepting he need to let his past and family errors drive his present and lock his future. While Amelia still struggles to get ends meet and recovers from a sad event and bad lover choice.
When Macy appears an afternoon on Martin’s porch, he is far from ready to be a father and need a nanny very fast to figure what will be his next move.
He just didn’t expected Macy and soon-to-be-hired Amelia will his world upside down.
But how to turn a partying player in father material and how a broken hearted woman open up again.
I love this dual POV story, seing Martin falling from Charybdis and Scylla, unable to make choices, his daughter or a party, Amelia or partying and the internal dialogues of Amelia, giving him icy stares when he failed them.
A very good read to recommend.
