The writing is stellar, and I loved how the intelligently written dialogues deepen plot and character. Judith Erwin deftly uses suspense to keep readers engaged.

This is a must-read for all romance and suspense genre readers.
The Studio has all the ingredients to be a winner with the makings of a Hallmark TV special.

The writing is gorgeous, and I enjoyed the crisp, excellent dialogues. Judith Erwin knows how to open the hearts of characters to reveal their vulnerability and hidden strengths. So much to enjoy in this novel.

From the Author

I began ballet classes at age five. I never became a dancer but have been devoted to the ballet my entire life. I've served on the executive boards of four ballet companies, the Dance Panel of the State of Florida Grants Program, been a dance critic and writer for multiple publications, and raised a brilliant ballet instructor, choreographer, and dancer. In addition, I have counted among my dearest friends a number of great ballet teachers. Therefore, when I came to create characters in my novels from the world of dance, I came from experience. While The Studio is pure fiction, the composition (integrity, generosity, and commitment) of the characters is authentic.

Captivating to the end, Matt and Keri’s lives unfolding a nightmare and how was it ever going to end. With five daughters the range of emotion and understanding for each was hard, impossible for some. The light was taking ballet lesson, that too took a sideline, when things became public.

This is the fifth of Judith's books that I've read and honestly they just keep getting better. I honestly start them and can't put them down until I'm finished. Her style of writing keeps the reader eager to turn the next page.

I love the detail of her characters and the combination of romance and suspense. By the time you are finished reading her books, you feel like you know the characters yourself.

I have never been a big romance reader and Judith's books (all of them) aren't the overly sappy romance kind because the suspense is the main thread that keeps you so engaged.

I highly recommend reading all of her books and can't wait for the next one to come out.

This is a realistic story that expertly blends the emotions and motivations of a number of people who have a variety of intersecting perspectives. I found the blend of romance and mystery to be appealing and handled in a classy manner. The backdrop of a dance studio and a family of daughters was a good way to bring these characters together. (No sons in ballet? Ah well.) There was an issue near the end of the book regarding the smallest girl, and I thought that was handled the best way possible. For me, the intrigue kept this story moving. I think it's obvious from page one who the romantic couple is, but the mystery could have played out in a variety of routes. Since I'm not familiar with this author, I wasn't sure if this was going into the realm of a thriller, where happy endings are not guaranteed. I could see this story happening pretty much by the script in the real world too. The author has a nice, easy writing style that flows smoothly. The characters are logical, and their personalities unfold naturally.

This book pulls from a number of thematic elements common to romance in a new and interesting way. You've got the single dad, the military man, the second chance, the happy ending. The characters are believable and intriguing, and placed into the world of dance. Throw in a mystery, and you have a book that will have you riveted from the first page. A great read!
