About the Author
'Uncle Dave' Howard grew up in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. As a child, he struggled to read and write and he was placed in learning disability classes. He excelled in art and had a passion for telling stories even as a child. He over came his disabilities and graduated in 1995 from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh earning a degree in Visual Communications. His first book is Lady's Day to Play, a story about his own dog, which is a Jack Russell-Cocker Spaniel-Poodle mix. Dave writes under the name Uncle Dave because this first book was written for his niece as a baby shower gift. Unfortunately, the new baby died of S.I.D.S (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) at the age of two months. Because of this tragedy and the support from Dave s friends and family for his writing, he donates part of the book proceeds to S.I.D.S research. Dave is currently writing several new books and his favorite genre is rhyming text and computer illustrations for the very young reader.
