Defying the Relic Hunter (Coletti Warlord Series Book 11) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 486 ratings

Kizzy sees dead people, but she's a thief and talking to dead folks is about as useful as a three-legged horse. The Dragos clan booted her out when her year's take was a lousy five hundred and sixty credits. The only way back in is to pull off a million-credit heist. Alone.

When Kizzy's jobs as a roadkill collector and medical test subject goes south, she decides taking Montezuma's gold away from an Indiana Jones wannabe will be easy.

The snag? The Indiana Jones wannabe is Ethan Jones, a dangerous Coletti Warlord. Now that she's caught his attention, he's determined to capture her as his prize.

Can the ghost whisperer defeat the big, bad Warlord?

I pre-ordered this book and was so excited to read it, but life got in the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book! Why did I wait so long to read it? I loved the action, romance , humor and fast pace.

The story was another great addition to the Coletti Warlord series and I spent any enjoyable two hours immersed in another world. This was way cheaper than a movie ticket for an escape and a whole lot less calories than a rich dessert and the pleasure lasted much longer.

I read the reviews about how it was a re-write of I hear voices. I did not pick that up. I just jumped in and enjoyed the story.

The characters are fun and the fast pace and humor are definitely a Gail Koger trademark.

My only disappointment was that I now have to wait till the next book is published this Spring. (I hate waiting!)

This is a story I will re-read and enjoy over and over again. Completely worth the price.

A really well rounded and immensely entertaining read!!! I know that any book by Gail Koger will not disappoint! Like all of her books Defying The Relic Hunter has humour that will have you laughing out loud, exciting adventures, sexy Alpha alien males and the beautiful independent feisty women whom they claim as their mates......plus allot more! Ethan Jones is a Coletti Warrior Hybrid and Kizzy Dragos is one of a long line of thieves! Both are after a big treasure, and when she steals an artifact that will lead her to the treasure she captures Ethan’s attention and then “woohoo” the game/chase is on!!!

Loved this book. Action, adventure and a grandma ghost, woo hoo! Who wouldn’t love that?! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down. Except when I had to go to work. Darn work (grumpy face). Rated four stars because toward the very end you could kinda start knowing what was going to happen. Recommend!!!

I loved the chemistry between Ethan and her. The Jones family sounds like a hoot! Love, support and never a dull moment!
I would recommend this book to everyone! It made me smile and laugh a lot.
I gave this book 5 stars. It has everything. Romance, action, family and love are all there.

Having heard about Ethan in previous stories I wasn’t sure what to expect. Wow was I surprised. I loved kizzy and her grandma, they were funny, sarcastic and definitely not shrinking violets. This story introduced new people for me(Dragos) as well as some old favourites. The Colletti world just gets better. Hopefully we get to read about the rest of the jones clan. Ms Koger if you keep writing them, we will keep reading and enjoying them.

What a ride!! Another entertaining episode but with a new twist into the esoteric this time moving on to a new family of extraordinary women. All follow a similar format that give you a satisfying HEA while interweaving characters from previous books, expanding on their stories and characters along the way. You never know who’s going to pop up again and I really love that about this series. Lots of laugh out loud moments!

While the book is very funny and is good, it is a rewrite of I Hear Voices with names of characters changed and the calotti warriors added. That is why I only gave it 3 stars. This is not the first time Gail Koger wasted the opportunity to create something new and basically tricked fans into paying for something they read before. Disappointed.

With a heavy dose of romance. Snarky, hold on to your hats, romance. But the best part of the book was the multi-state fast paced search for Aztec treasure. A psychic woman with a psychic dead grandmother take on evil aliens from outer space. I kid you not. Great story.

God, I love Coletti books. I haven’t laughed so much in ages! It’s as good as the initial Jones’ stories, especially the one about Jaylan and Vox. I forgot how funny Gail is. I have two more waiting so sorry but I’m off to do some more reading.

I absolutely love this series! Please keep them coming! Coletti Warriors are one of my favourites, bad ass heroes and feisty females who make their men work for it. No insta love here.
Great story line with some previous characters is always a huge plus for me. Don’t pass this one up it’s a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Gail Koger!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 8, 2020
This is Ms. Koger's 11th Coletti novel & even after all it's predecessors it doesn't disappoint. Many authors would have run out of original plot lines by now or each book would be part of a continuing series with cliffhanger endings, not Gail Koger.Having said that there is a connection between books, being the Coletti warlords & there are recurring characters but each can be read as standalones.
So to " Defying the Relic Hunter",this is the story of one of many members of the Jones "clan" finding their life mate.
Our hero is Ethan Jones & his accident prone, clairvoyant, chocolate loving mate to be is Kassiopeia (Kizzy) Dragos, expelled from her family of thieves for failing to add adequate funds to their crime empire.
The story is fast paced,Kizzy is a funny, clever & resourceful young woman who can see,and talk to,dead people, including her grandmother.Ethan is a strong alpha male & a Coletti warlord. Both are determined to find Montezuma's gold,it would be Kizzy's passport back into her family, for Ethan it would be more about the prestige of being able to display the artefacts in a museum setting. If it was only that simple.
We all, including Ethan, follow Kizzy as she encounters some very unpleasant undead ( some still living) entities in her pursuit of the treasures & get to watch as Ethan shows her how much better her life will be with him in it,including the "hot monkey sex" that the Coletti are renowned for.
There are ghosts, wraiths, aliens, demons & family members all involved in either trying to kill or support Kizzy as she aims for her "happy ever after",and the treasure of course.
My main complaint is that I read it too quickly because I couldn't put it down.I'm hoping that Ms. Koger is already planning number 12!
