About the author

A former Selah Award winner, and Carol Awards finalist, Linda Wood Rondeau writes to demonstrate that our worst past, surrendered to God, becomes our best future. Her books are inspired by her many years as a social worker, why her voice hits home with complex characters who walk off the page, and why readers relate to her non-fiction as well.
Humor, another guarantee in a Rondeau book, is also prevalent in her non-fiction. Readers will also enjoy her website blog, Snark and Sensibility:http://www.lindarondeau.com
The author is a breast cancer survivor and a recovering food addict. A Toastmaster graduate, she enjoys speaking to groups about her experiences as well as the writing life. The author loves to hear from readers. You may contact her through her website, www.lindarondeau.com, on Facebook, Goodreads, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Linked In, or via Elk Lake Publishing.
The author is also a writing consultant, The First Hundred Pages, and details are on her website http://www.lindarondeau.com.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2020Snow on Bald Mountain by Linda Wood Rondeau takes the reader into the life of a young couple hired to work for a wealthy, reclusive widow. Their work comes with a caretakers cottage and leads the couple and their son through life changing events. This reader thoroughly enjoyed this lovely Christmas novella. It's a great break from the mayhem offered on television news and programming. Well written and well told, the reader won't be sorry about buying Snow on Bald Mountain.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2020Every now and then a book comes along that leaves me with a warm fuzzy glow. This is one of those books. It’s a heartwarming story of the power of love and relationships and how we can affect others by leaning in to their suffering.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2019A great read that is worth the short time it takes to devour this story of love and commitment to friends and strangers.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2017A delightful story of listening to the voice of the Lord and following where be leads.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2018This novella is definitely Christian Fiction, but I don't really know what genre it fits into. Nevertheless, it's an enjoyable tale of snow and babies and a dog and a boy. I especially smiled over one phrase describing the hero's seven-year-old son: "... and bucked around the house like a newly saddled stallion." Boy, did that bring back memories of my sons. Come to think of it, also of my daughter. My only complaint is that the book was too short. I fell in love with the family, the dog, and the eccentric old lady, and I wanted more! Still--it is enjoyable story-telling, so I'm giving it about 4.5 stars--which, of course, rounds up to five.
Ryan and his wife Penney live in a house that's too small. His mother and his aunt live there, and now Penney is pregnant. Where will they put the baby? His job at the factory barely supplies their needs, but it's becoming obvious they need a change.
He applies for -- and gets -- a caretaker job at a large estate in the mountains. It comes with a large, economy-size house, a large, economy-size dog (a Newfy), and a sweetly eccentric older lady (Miss Allison) who never leaves the mansion. Penney is to be the housekeeper, which is fine with her.
This is such an enjoyable read that I don't have any hesitation about recommending it to you. Good job, Linda Wood Rondeau!
I received a free copy of this book from the author, but my opinions are my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2019This novella was an enjoyable read and I admired the characters which is important for me. This is a sequel to the novel Miracle On Maple Street which is next on my list as I continue to explore the writings of Linda Rondeau.
I look forward to reading more books by Linda Rondeau.
I purchased the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2017This is a sequel to Miracle on Maple Street, and although it can be read as a standalone I definitely recommend reading the first book not only to get the background on the characters in this book but because it is a wonderful read. This author certainly knows how to bring her characters to life, and I thoroughly enjoyed catching back up with Ryan and his wife and seeing how God has continued to work in their lives. This is another inspiring story from this author that I wholeheartedly recommend. I was given a copy of this book, but a positive review was not required. The opinions expressed are my own.

5.0 out of 5 stars and loved every second of the story
Lovely follow on story from Miracle on Maple Street. Ryan moves his family into a guest house when he lands a job as a caretaker. Of course nothing is straightforward. I didn't see the end coming, and loved every second of the story.
