Remember Fate: A Second Chance Military Romance (Healing Hearts) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 340 ratings

Lucy Reyes doesn’t need anyone. As an investigative reporter, relying on others is a weakness she can’t afford. But when she overhears her childhood crush’s heartbreak, she can’t resist stepping in, sending letters to the lonely soldier who’s been betrayed.

Jamie Post had his future planned—until his fiancée shattered it by finding comfort in another’s arms. Now, pouring his heart out to Lucy is his only solace. But when she suddenly appears on his base in Afghanistan, everything changes.

In a war zone, can Lucy keep her heart guarded while Jamie struggles to let someone new in? Will fate bring these two souls together in a world that’s falling apart?

***These standalone sweet, clean romances follow a team of soldiers that were once stationed in Afghanistan, bound by friendship. They can be read alone but if you read them together, their stories are so much richer.

All of my thanks to and prayers for the service members, veterans, leos and first responders of our great nation. We are able to be who we are only because of who you are.

I absolutely loved this book! Remember Fate is the fifth book of now 29 in Healing Hearts. While I'm glad I'm reading them in order because I love the backstories and the community, these books ARE HEA STANDALONES and it is not necessary to read the previous books.

I think Lucy and Jamie are my favorite couple yet. I absolutely love the way Ginny Sterling uses real issues that affect our real heroes and finds them real happiness in real ways.

I would highly recommend this totally clean book for anyone.

Jameson Post fell in love with Annabelle the moment he saw her in elementary school. All through the years, he knew he was going to marry the prettiest girl in their home town. Across the playground, Lucy Reyes had eyes only for Jameson. She lost her heart to him his first day of school. But he never looked her way. Years go past, Jamie is now engaged to Annabelle, but is in the US Army - stationed in Afghanistan. Lucy is working for a news agency - with Annabelle of all people. When Lucy gets the chance to go to the base in Afghanistan, she runs into Jamie and knows her heart has never let go of this man. When the truth of Annabelle's actions come to light, Lucy has to make the choice of telling the truth or maintaining the lie. Somewhere along the way, Lucy and Jamie find themselves in communication - a friendship to help them get through their troubles. It takes a strange twist of fate to make Jamie see Lucy was the one all along.

This is the 4th book in this amazing series. I fell in love with Jamie and Lucy from start to the end. Never will I find a contemporary series that touches the heart and soul like this one does!

Romance, sweet, contemporary, military; series but stand alone read
Jamie and Lucy’s story told from alternating points of view, starts out with Lucy’s memories of Jamie. Her heart breaking a little when Jamie falls for another girl.
Loved Lucy’s character, compassion, zest for life and courage. Not sure how true the on base part is in Afghanistan, but loved their moments together. Sweet fall for them both as they faced the dangers in a war zone. Loved Jamie’s realizations about a Lucy, and how much he valued her integrity and character, along with her beauty.

    Loved Jamie and Lucy’s story-
Unrequited love, a wise teacher and living her life as her own person, Lucy is someone special.
Jamie(Jameson) with a infatuation that made him blind, hanging on for years, soon has a shock, more about his idiocy that trusted a selfish girl like Annabelle.
Jamie and Lucy were thrown together in unusual ways with danger, a night in a cave, a time bomb, all to figure out who they were.
    Loved it!

Lucy had a crush on Jameson since he joined their class when she was twelve but he only had eyes for Annabelle. He joined the armed forces upon high school graduation engaged to Annabelle. After Lucy does an interview at his base, she sends him a Christmas card. He learns of Annabelle being unfaithful and breaks it off with her. He then begins communicating with Lucy and she once again ends up in Afghanistan. Will he be able to keep her safe?

What a beautiful story! Annabelle was a moron for what she did to Jamie! But her loss was Lucy’s gain. Their adventure kept me on the edge, but I’m glad they found their forever love.

Goodness, I love this series. Soldiers with a heart of gold and the women they are meant to be with.

Jamie has a fiancé back home, someone he has been with since he was 12.

Lucy has had a crush on Jamie since he was the new kid in class at 12 years old. But he doesn’t pick her. Ironically, she works with Jamie’s fiancé, Annabelle and learns that She has been unfaithful to Jamie. Lucy takes a brave step and emails Jamie that he needs to call Annabelle and ask what’s going on.

Miraculously, Lucy gets the chance to see Jamie twice in Afghanistan. A new relationship starts tentatively. Both are unsure of themselves at times and both are strong. It was cool being along for the ride while this couple figures things out. Afghanistan is a unique place to fall in love and that was nice perspective.
