A Little Change of Plans: A Firefighter Love at First Sight Surprise Baby Workplace Romance (The Saints of San Diego Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 98 ratings

When Jake Saint, second to the last of the Saint brothers, saw rookie firefighter Geri Angel for the first time it was love at first sight?

Misunderstood most of her adult life, Geri's driving goal of becoming a firefighter, being a devoted athlete, her lack of interest in dating and short hair had acquaintances speculating about her sexuality. But when she saw Jake at the Station #34 that first week, she knew she had to fight the attraction. She must let nothing get in the way of her goal to command a battalion of her own.

A series of events would alter the route, so that although she could still reach her goal, she might be making a detour or two along the way with a little change of plans.

A standalone story from The Saints of San Diego.

A LITTLE CHANGE OF PLANS is a standalone read with a HEA. Sex is talked about but nothing that anyone couldn't read. Geri is the daughter of a firefighter. She has every intention of one day becoming the head of her on battalion. She doesn't plan to let anything get in her way. She has finished school and has been accepted on her first job. She is excited and plans to be the best. She is the only hire for the year so that makes her "junior man", she gets a lot of dirty jobs but she does them with a smile on her face. Her crew is made up of mostly Saint men and they are all nice to her.

Jake is the next to the youngest in his family. All his brothers as well as his dad are firefighters. Jake is a great guy but his heart doesn't seem to be totally in the fire station. He is just following family tradition. As soon as he sees Geri his heart is lost. They quickly become a twosome. Jake seems to have fallen faster and harder. Geri doesn't want to have a man/relationship interfere with her plan. She is driven, she goes to the gym every day and can out shine most of the men. She is studying for her higher degree. She runs every chance she gets and she always eats right. She is determined. But then all of her plans get turned upside down.

This is a good story. It is filled with ambition, romance, adventure and determination. All the characters are fun and help to create a very real family and story. I would definitely recommend this book. I believe it is the last in the series so all the brothers already have their books. It is an entertaining read with a good ending.

I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 3/1/2020.

I just loved this story of a saint and an angel. The Saints of San Diego continue to make my heart smile and to break it a little at the same time.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I would love to be a part of this family. They’re able to share happiness and grief together, and pull through stronger than ever.

This Saint, Jake, is one special guy. A guy any woman would love. And Geri is one tough cookie. Will she be swayed by the lovable Jake or continue on her previously set goals for her life with no detours? Let’s see.........

Geri made it through the Firefighters Academy with flying colors after putting in a lot of hard work. Accepted at Station #34, she was anxious to learn everything so she could meet her goal of becoming a Battalion Chief. Jake Saint took one look and knew Geri was to be his life long partner although Geri had no plans for a boyfriend. Can Make help Geri see a change in plans might be the best thing to ever happen to Geri? Some difficult subjects covered in a realistic way.

This story is about the romantic and emotional involvement between a new rookie firefighter and a firefighter who happens to be part of the Saint family. They both struggle with their growing attraction and keying everything low key as they work at the same station.

Geri had wanted to be a firefighter since she was a young girl. Sparks fly the first time she meets Jake Saint at the firehouse she works at. She wants to go slow in the relationship so it doesn't mess up her goals.

A great story of young romance, heartbreak and the ability of hearts to renew. I loved the sweet nature of this story and the characters development in their relationship. Not a sexy kind of story, but a sweetness that will leave you wanting to know the future.
