Fire Ball: A Gorgeous Nurse Sports Injury Firefighter Romance (The Saints of San Diego Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 119 ratings

A career in the NFL or join the local fire company with dad? The final choice is made when Oliver Saint meets trauma nurse Wendy Adams and her dog, Sadie.

Being drafted by an NFL team was the realization of a goal Oliver Saint had set for himself. For the handsome, muscular college junior, he had the choice of either becoming a player in the NFL, or a fireman, following the rest of the Saints. Although he had the greatest respect for the job, he just couldn’t see himself in a life of service to his fellow man. He wanted the accolades of a professional sports career.

His high school sweetheart didn’t want him to leave California if he was a draft pick, but Oliver wasn’t sure that he wanted her to follow him across the county. He wanted the full experience of living in his own apartment in a strange city. That didn’t include domesticity.

Then everything blew up when a serious injury on the field brought trauma nurse Wendy Adams into his life. She’d change everything for Oliver, helping him to make a final choice.

Charlie Saint's son Oliver has played football since he was 5 and dated Joanne for many years. He has been drafted to the NFL much to the delight of his family and much to the dismay of his girlfriend who actually doesn't even like football.
After Oliver meets the trauma nurse Wendy, he finds her a very pleasant person to be around, but what about Joanne? After a TBI that won the game, will Oliver be able to play again? Who will be choose to spend his life with in or out of football?

Suzanne Jenkins has discovered gold with her family of Saints! Fireball was no exception and it always amazes me how Suzanne has so much knowledge of so many different things!

Instead of the typical choice of firefighting for this particular Saint, Oliver, he has decided to become a professional football player and he dream was realized. It’s what comes after that gets interesting. It was a story I was so glad to be able to read and I’m so glad Suzanne has continued to grow the Saint dynasty. Keep ‘em coming.

I like the thought of this book but what got me first was that grown men do not giggle! Oliver did that more than once. Then move on to his girlfriend, Joanne, she was just a....if she moved on to a guy she could see herself marrying, she should not be thinking about how sex with her ex was.

Oliver Saint is drafted into the NFL to the Detroit lions and had a long term girlfriend that didn't make the move from San Diego with him to Michigan. During his second season he is injured while making the winning touch down. Wendy was the nurse he had formed a friendship with when he accidentally adopted her dog. After breaking up with his girlfriend they start to see each other.

This is a most interesting mix of characters... Oliver Saint, football player, Wendy Adams, nurse, and Sadie, Wendy's dog!

The story has an interesting plot, characters well developed and kept my interest from the first page until the last.

Will definitely read more by this author...

    Most highly recommended.

The story was emotionless. It was written as if it was a text book giving information as opposed to a living story.
