Excuse me for calling these book 2, or book 1, makes it easier to write about it. After finishing Greektown book 1, I had to buy book 2 and got book 3 free, and bought book 4. Having finished book 2, "The Princess of Greektown," I must say I just loved it. It has everything, murder, police involvement, romance, suspense, family with or without love... I highly recommend you read all the books in this series. The book centers around Jill and her dad Gus. Jill is a detective and so there is never a dull moment in these books. I can't wait to start book 3 tonight. You can't go wrong with these books. Very little profanity for those who don't care for that. The characters are well defined, not too difficult to understand or follow. I don't care for Amazon's asking about how to describe the characters. I really don't know if they mean complex to be too hard to understand or giving a lot of detail. Amazing author and all her books that I have ever read are well written and easy to understand. Excellent stories and I also say that for the series of Pam of Babylon. If you like these, you will love those. I'm going to read every single book that she has on ebooks in time.

I love this author's style of writing. This is a real read. She doesn't gloss over the bad stuff. So, you see the good, the bad and the ugly in the character's lives. You don't have time to be bored because there is always drama happening. This story has lots of drama and will keep you turning the pages to find out what the people will do next. There are also multiple killings in this story and some of the main characters are cops so, you get to find out pieces of the puzzle right along with them. I love that Jill has a special kind of something that helps her out with her police work sometimes. On to the next book in the series to continue on with finding out what's happening in their lives now.

This kindle novel is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 2 of 8

I read book 1 in 2015 and saw the series and decided to give it a try.

Interesting story of relationships between family, friends, and lovers. There are murders and drugs as the police investigate each leading to a conclusion.

I would recommend this series and author to readers of romantic family and friends relationships mystery novels. 2024

I liked the two story lines and how they collided. I enjoyed the characters, the culture, and family history. However when all was defined in the beginning I felt it was too much about people I had yet to meet. I would rather discover their foibles as I get to know the characters. Conversely, the ending was good, believable, until, the ending with the creepy stranger appearing. Oh, yes, there must have been a writing class where so many aspiring writers were told this formulaic way of ending a story in a series. Cliffhangers are so overused and a cheap trick to get readers to buy your next book. Hey, if your book was good, they'll be looking for your next read without the tricks.

Suzanne Jenkins weaves her characters with such dramatic flair leaving the reader always on the edge of their seats . I can't believe how her mind can conceptualize each dark and evil side of the killers and yet allow the reader to know in depth each family member. I can't wait to continue the next book in her series.

The second book in the Greektown Stories is as riveting as the first, complete with surprise villains, quirky law enforcement, and unfortunate victims. Many of the characters are highly relatable, and their individual stories weave a complex family tapestry guaranteed to keep you reading for hours. I went through a steady stream of varying emotions as I read this story, and even found myself bursting with laughter a number of times. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Suzanne Jenkins never disappoints.

The book tells the story of one family of Detroit's Greektown, and how the lies and hidden truths of their past affect their present. All the while, Jill, a cop, has to deal with her family's history surfacing, she also has to deal with the murder of another family.

It's a pretty good book. You do get caught up in the story. However, it does tell the stories of five brothers and sisters and their lives at the same time as solving murders of another family. It goes back and forth between past and present. I found it a little hard to follow because of this. Overall, it was a decent read.
