Tina had older sisters, the talks at night, she couldn’ do, was too hard to imagine. How does one cope, the heaviness at home, and in one’s heart. The thoughts of school, coming home, seeing her mom at the door, with a pink har on that she had crochet. Even her father wanted a oink fuzzy cap. The night she got sleep, thinking of the size, and would he really wear.
Emotions are strong, and well written.

Suzanne, I was all ready to read a full novel, I wanted to find out how Harley and Jason's daughters coped, how well Kathy fit in with her new family after Harley's death. I cried thru the entire first novel, I too was a Recovery Room nurse.
I now have 43 of your novels, TY Elizabeth

This is a short story about three sisters who are facing the uncertainty of losing their Mom to breast cancer. Tina the youngest is befriended by her school bus driver, as she learns coping skills. Each girl copes in her own way, but Tina is afraid her parents are shielding them from the real truth.

This was a sad but, well written story. Just as it began to not be as sad, it ended. I wanted to read the rest! Really like this author.

Tina is dealing with the emotions and fear of her mother’s battle with breast cancer. While trying to protect Tina and her siblings from too much information for their ages, Tina and her sisters are terror-stricken with the possibility of their mother’s death. Tina’s grades and relationships suffer as she battles emotional pain and sadness. Wanting to do something to comfort and support mother she begins incorporating pink into her wardrobe as an icon of hope.

Suzanne Jenkins deals with a difficult subject, faced by thousands of families, in a sensitive and heartwarming manner.

Decompensating is a strange word choice. I am not sure where this word comes from and why is was used. Decompressing would have been a better choice.
