Blair C. Howard is a Royal Air Force veteran, a retired journalist, and the best-selling author of more than 50 novels, including the international best-selling Harry Starke series, and 23 travel books. In 2021, having been fascinated by the heavens almost from childhood, and a SciFi fan for almost as long, he decided to try his hand at writing a military space opera. His first journey into this genre resulted in the Sovereign Stars series. Book 1 in the series, Avenger was quickly followed by Gods of War and Armored Fleet.

    This trilogy fills that gap as to why Harry decides to become a private investigator and how is able to be so successful. Harry gets involved because he is asked by family and friends. It is hard to say no and even when you do, as he did in Genesis, there is always a hook. Especially then in the Raven, the reader sees how Harry capitalizes on his skills of observation and the strengths of his friends and a lot of luck. His reputation grows. Then, in the Assassin you see how he is able to put everything together.

    It is a must read and found all three books, which I had read separately, most enjoyable. Not having to wait between books would have been so much better.

    I found that I needed to have read at least the initial Harry Starke series books and also the first couple of books in the series featuring Kate. The text kept mentioning events and characters from the other novels so it was difficult to keep the timeline straight.

    The Genesis or beginning of the Harry Starke, PI series. This collection of the first 3 books in the Genesis series tells us why Harry left the Chattanooga Police department and became a PI. In the Raven, family asks him to help solve a murder of a friend. The Assassin is very action packed and fast paced. All the books are great reads. Harry has his flaws but has an amazing ability to reason things and find answers and solutions.
