Sting of the Scorpion (Scorpion One Book 1) Kindle Edition
The Army doesn’t want them, they’re too much trouble!
MI6 does, they’re the best at what they do, and they need the best.
MI6 have a problem.
A missing agent kidnapped and taken to hostile territory for interrogation.
Only one option is open, and that’s a high-risk rescue operation over two hundred miles into hostile territory with no support.
A ‘do or die mission’ where the stakes are high and failure isn’t an option.
‘Great book. Fun from beginning to end. Humorous at times, action all over the place, the troop are just what you expect and the bosses even more so,’ (one reviewer said)

About the Author
Hi there! Lawrence Here. Just taking a moment to say a big hello and that I hope you enjoy the book.
I love a good yarn, and I think this is a great one. A lot of the book is based around my experience as both a Soldier in the British Army and my experience in Iraq as an aid worker in the nineties, and I'll let you into a secret, this nearly did happen (but don't tell the wife PLEASE!)

About the author

I'm an ex soldier who also spent a number of years in the Middle East working with an Evangelical Christian relief and development organisation.
I never really thought that I'd be a writer. When I joined the Army I was told that my English grammar wasn't good enough for the unit I really wanted to join (The Royal Military Police) so I ended up working with Helicopters and in a unit where even the troopers had a university education (I didn't even leave school with a decent qualification)
I reckon that a few years in the Army, and then going to the Middle East working with a relief and development group kind of gives a unique perspective on things. I reckon it's reflected in my writing. An ability to 'look behind what's happening and give a unique perspective reflected in the stories I write.
So far, most of the stories are the military action adventure type of stories that people enjoy, but there are a couple that raise some challenging questions to think about.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2021What a joy to find an author with the creativity to meld well-developed, colorful characters, with a realistic British rescue operation story, great scenic descriptions, and lots of grit and gun power. Absolutely loved the intensity of both teams' escapes following the rescue of the diplomat. Will definitely put L. Hebb on my favorite author list. - Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2025Scorpion One, an SAS elite team, is sent to rescue a captured MI6 agent held hostage in Iran in a castle atop a mountain cliff. How difficult can that be??
Their orders are to rescue him or kill him if they can't rescue him. The team knows their target, so the only option is to rescue him.
The action moves quickly, with plenty of real-world action.
The twist at the end is nice.
The book is engaging, fun, and hard to put down. I had a good time reading the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2022The book is interesting, with a lot of action. The book has a good flow with the story line. The characters are well developed and have a likable personality. They all have a flow in the story that moves and blend’s, showing they have worked together a while. The only problem I had was several paragraphs repeated themselves several times. The book is worth reading. Read and enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2024A team of commandos is sent to retrieve a captured asset with lots of sensitive information! The team consists of five or six off-the-book soldiers plus a female intelligence expert! Seems pretty unlikely! Plenty of
action ensues! The beginning paragraphs of one chapter were copied and pasted from a previous chapter! Bad non-editing error! Constant inappropriate use of exclamation points was distracting while trying to read! Drop 95% of exclamation points and edit it a bit & it will pick up a couple of stars

5.0 out of 5 stars I am hooked!
This book was fabulous! Action packed with loads of action! Great characters, of course our British sas types! I won’t give to much away but it has Russian and Iranian bad guys! I loved it! Five stars every day of the week! I highly recommend it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Story; Terrible Editing
Action, character development, plot: you had it all ... and lost it to lousy proof-reading. Shoddy grammar and puerile punctuation. What a disappointment!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story
While it was a fairly good story, it is in need of a good editor. Run-on sentences and way too many exclamation points!!!! I hope the next one is better in this regard and has better coherence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good book.
Good story showing some interesting detail.
No version of the AK 47 had a burst mode, but we won’t quibble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed it.
The characters slowly grow on you. A little far fetched, but hey it's a fast ride. Overall thoroughly enjoyable. I'll certainly buy the next book
