4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 103 ratings

They’re back and they’re looking for payback, for vengeance.

A body in the Thames. A city in turmoil and a traitor at the heart of British Intelligence.

Joey and Sandy might have the answers, but they’ve ‘gone off the grid’

Thirty-six hours ago Joey Metcalfe and Sandy Little were twelve thousand miles away with the rest of Scorpion Team on an ‘Op’ tracking down leads that might lead them to the identity of the traitor, but that was thirty-six hours ago, a lot has happened since then. They have gone off-grid along with the rest of the team.
And the ‘Hunter has become the hunted.’

Scorpion’s Vengeance is the third book in the high octane Scorpion One series by Lawrence Hebb. A fast-paced supercharged thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat from the first page.

Join the team as they track down a traitor at the heart of British Intelligence, a hunt that will take them all the way to the heart of British society.

I'm an ex soldier who also spent a number of years in the Middle East working with an Evangelical Christian relief and development organisation.

I never really thought that I'd be a writer. When I joined the Army I was told that my English grammar wasn't good enough for the unit I really wanted to join (The Royal Military Police) so I ended up working with Helicopters and in a unit where even the troopers had a university education (I didn't even leave school with a decent qualification)

I reckon that a few years in the Army, and then going to the Middle East working with a relief and development group kind of gives a unique perspective on things. I reckon it's reflected in my writing. An ability to 'look behind what's happening and give a unique perspective reflected in the stories I write.

So far, most of the stories are the military action adventure type of stories that people enjoy, but there are a couple that raise some challenging questions to think about.

This book keeps the team and their Kiwi friends together to take down the mole in MI6. along the way , they take care of a major Russian Bratva leader.

Action from start to finish with a young security consultant in the middle of it all.

The book is an exciting and fun read. This is a good series.

Excellent 3 book series. Once I started hard to put down. Only hope the series continues with more terrific stories of the Scorpion teams adventures.

Book one was good. Book two had issues. Book three is a mess. It was almost unreadable there were so many mistakes. It's like it wasn't proofed at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Scorpion's are closing in on the mole but more trouble is coming.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 4, 2024
Sam and Hene have joined the Scorpion's and are in Blighty but thanks to the mole everyone's in danger. But the hunted have no intention of hiding instead they've laid out plans and soon they become the hunters in this well thought out action packed thriller. And though there are spelling mistakes, they in no way reduce the storytelling. I love this series of books.

    5.0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked!

I hope there will be more Scorpion thrills to come ! Fast action packed from the first word and continued at a lightening pace until the last when you can finally take a breather. Excellent storyline and such detailed accounts of special forces actions - it'll take lot to match it - Lawrence Hebb is to be commended for all three of these awesome encounters. There must be more!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent story spoilt by poor writing
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 7, 2020
Book 3 and the conclusion. All 3 books were excellent, fast paced, I'd even go as far as exciting, but for whatever reason book 3 was badly written. The first 2 books were no where near this bad. Some sentences literally made no sense, even after reading them 2 or 3 times. Either words are missing, sentences were missing entirely. Sam, became same, words were typed twice.
I have no idea what caused this, but the author needs a new proof reader, or possibly get the old one back. If book 1 had been this bad, I would not have gone onto book 2

3.0 out of 5 stars Liked story but what happened to the proof reading
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 27, 2020
The text throughout the book is littered with spelling errors, additional words and missing words errors, they served to spoil the overall enjoyment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 12, 2020
Book one had me gripped and chomping at the bit for book two, that one was poor quality language and grammar.

Unfortunately, once I start a series I like to read the entirety. But I really wish I hadn’t with book three, the spelling, grammar and sheer volume of errors made for an unpleasant read...disappointingly.
