Writing as Tottie Limejuice, Lesley has published six books in the Sell the Pig memoir series: Sell the Pig, Is That Billing Lump?, Mother Was It Worth It? Biff the Useless Mention, Angling Bumateurs, and Trot On!

She also writes humorous travelogues as Tottie Limejuice: the Tottie's Travels series: Hobbit House in Italy, Two Jills and a Tots, and Pride Comes Before a Bedbug. 4.5 Stars: Totally gripping, realistic and strong. That’s what I felt as I always do when reading Ted Darling mysteries. I love the characters and even though I haven’t read all the books, I’ve read enough to see the whole team as old friends. Ted and Trev are completely true to form in this book too and the double plot line was excellent and kept me riveted. So why the 4.5 and not 5 stars? I could have done without the gory bits, but that’s just me and my personal taste. The earlier Ted books didn’t have gruesome descriptions, but as I’ve missed a few, I don’t know if that’s been a recent development or not. I’m afraid I don’t like it if it is. Otherwise, though, a birillant read which I enjoyed very much :)

Well written police procedural with twists and turns that keep the reader turning the pages. The characters are believable and relatable, and I like that new characters are introduced while old familiar ones reappear. Lesley is also excellent at leaving little nuggets or gems to keep the reader chomping at the bit for the next book!
I discovered the DCI Ted Darling books through Kindle recommendations and I have been hooked ever since. If you enjoy crime/police books, then I thoroughly recommend reading these, you will not be disappointed!!!

Gave this book 4 stars only because it took so long to figure out who's doing what and why. Body parts start turning up in various locations until most, but not all, of the body was found. At the same time, buildings are being set afire using the same method as an arsonist who is already in prison. The team is stretched thin and the clues are few and far between. And DCI Ted Darling gets huge help tying up an old case from a most unexpected source. Lots of procedural in this book. The team is working hard but getting frustrated. So was this reader. Still, a good book worth a read.

Another outstanding tale in the Ted Darling series. Back from Spain, Ted is facing some persecution from the press who have misrepresented events that occurred there. He is also working on an arson case and a second case in which body parts are appearing at various locations on his patch. A surprise visit from Trav's father leads to a new consideration -- or perhaps the extension of an old one -- a case involving a pedaphile ring involving some high ups. Some interesting new characters join his team temporarily, but I hope we'll see more of them in the future. I do want to add that while the mystery was fascinating, the binding of the book left a lot to be desired. Four different pages fell out as I was reading, and I'm very gentle with my books.

The writing in “Down Down Down” is so good that I tried to read more slowly as it got closer to the end. Another very well-crafted story with realistic characters. Ted Darling, his work colleagues and his husband Trev are all people who almost feel like friends. I enjoy reconnecting with them when a new book is published. In this entry, the new additions to the team have their own distinct personalities but still mesh well with the regulars. The crimes, and the people who commit them, are written with great details but are not overly gruesome. I would recommend the entire Ted Darling series to anyone who enjoys police procedurals that are well paced and balanced. They give the reader a good insight into the people who are tasked with solving crimes. Can’t wait for #14!

Another excellent addition to the Ted Darling series. Very enjoyable, a well written read, especially with the 2 plotlines running through it and a couple of temporary new additions to the team. I agree with the other reviewer...I didn't want to get to the end. I love this series, such a great combination of knowledgable policing stories and the characters personal life stories, it makes the books very realistic and never boring! Well done once again!

He keeps you guessing about the plot and everyone on his team is just as important for the story line as Ted is and Trev his husband makes you wish you had one like him to. The only bad thing I could say I wish it didn't take so long to bring another book out great writing.

When starting to read a new book in this wonderful series, the expectations are very high that I am entering the world of DCI Darling and will be drawn in enough to let the real world pass by. Once again I was not disappointed. L M Krier is now so in tune with her characters that the story flows along smoothly, a beautifully crafted book by an exceptional wordsmith. There are several threads to follow along the way, new and previous team members brought in to help with the workload. The usual banter between all the main characters breaks up the darker moments. A surprising and very unexpected visit does not go down well with Trev and needs all of Ted's persuasive charms to calm Trev down. Ted gets a couple of reprimands himself in this book. If you have not tried any of the books in the series, in my honest opinion, you are missing out on a very different take on the usual detective stories. This series is brilliant.

Once again, Ted has told his story with the help of the amazing L M Krier. Lesley once again has crafted an intriguing and turn taking tale of the life of Ted, his family and friends that hooks you in and keeps you interested from start to finish. If your looking for a detective series to read , this series is a must. Ted Darling and the gang become a part of your reading family, I would thoroughly recommend the series, well written, billirant characters and always pacy and interesting.
