About the authors
I am a graduate of Oregon State University and a lifelong equestrian. I am also a former teacher at the secondary school level. My husband, Tom, and I have 5 wonderful children and live in Colorado with our three horses and two standard poodles. I have always loved writing and using my imagination to create stories and characters. Many of my books are about horses...from the non-fiction equestrian trail guide books titled "Riding Colorado", "Riding Colorado II" and "Riding Colorado III" to my fantasy stories. The Mist Trilogy which is about the noble and great horses that become unicorns in the after-life is comprised of "Behind the Mist", "Mists of Darkness" and "The Rising Mist". I am also the proud recipient of the first place award in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards for my allegory of the revolutionary war titled "North Mystic".
I have known and loved many noble and great horses in my life so I also decided to start a blog about them. You can learn about famous and loved horses at www.themisttrilogy.blogspot.com. I love riding on trails in the beautiful Colorado mountains and competing in Dressage. So, if I am not sitting at my computer writing a new story, you can find me sitting in a saddle!
Joyce McPherson is the author of the Camp Hawthorne series as well as biographies for young people. She is also the mother of nine children, who give useful advice for her books. In her spare time she enjoys reading history, working with young people, and directing Shakespeare plays. You can check out her blog at http://joyce-mcpherson.blogspot.com.
Cassandra Davis (Amy to her friends and family) was raised an army brat: constantly traveling, making new friends every four years, and surrounded by an unique military culture. In the seventh grade, she complained to her English teacher that she'd read every fiction book in the library. The teacher handed Cassandra a blank notebook and told her to write her own stories.
After working as a US Senate aide for four years, Mrs. Davis became a homeschooling mom and author. She now lives outside Austin with her husband and two sons.
You can follow her on Twitter (@aCassandraDavis), Facebook (www.facebook.com/CassandraDavis.author), and the web at www.cassandradavis-author.com
C.M. Huddleston tried making careers of teaching, archaeology, and historic preservation before attempting her dream of writing the stories circling through her head. While her first three ventures proved successful, her dream career has panned out to be much more appealing! She now writes, edits, and then shares the characters and the stories roaming her head so you can experience their adventures right along with her. Can you imagine a more fun job? No boss except for all those characters vying for attention, wanting their story written, and constantly telling her to get on with it and type faster! So, immerse yourself in fiction, discover a bit of history—maybe even some archaeology—and peruse the stories gleaned from an award-winning author’s imagination.
D. G. Driver is an optimist at heart, and that's why she likes to write about young people making an impact on the world. You'll find among her books a teen environmental activist, a young girl teaching people about autism acceptance and to stop bullying people with special needs, a princess who wants to be more than a prize for a prince, a boy who wins a girl's heart by being genuine and chivalrous, and a girl who bravely searches for a friend lost along the shore of a dark lake. She is a multi-award winning author of books for teens and tweens, but you'll find some romance and horror stories in the anthologies, too. When Driver isn't writing, she's a teacher at an inclusive child development program in Nashville, TN. She might also take a break from writing once in a while to strut the stage in a local theater production. You're guaranteed to find her belting out Broadway show tunes anytime she's driving.

Rebecca Hammond Yager grew up in the bewitching realm of Vermont. She has a degree in creative writing and a lifetime love of monsters and beasts. When her nose isn't in a book, her head is firmly in the clouds where all dreamy heads ought to be. She now lives in South Carolina with a menagerie of beasts and her handsome, longsuffering husband where she obsessively collects fairytales, devours fantasy and science fiction, and rescues animals.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2017Winter Wonder a new collection of stories by independent authors takes the readers on a delightful holiday journey. A sampling of the stories includes experiencing the excitement of time travel with Greg in “How I Was Born 3,000 Years in the Past”, a visit to the mysterious future in “Aliens and Gingerbread”, and even a charming prequel, “Beauty and the Beast”. A continuation of Greg’s story can be found in the series Greg’s Adventures in Time, and more about the Aliens can be found in the eBook Dremiks.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2017Ten stories and a poem, by nine authors. Each work has its own "cover," with some very good artwork.
The first works are for younger children; the later ones are for middle-grade readers and young adults. Though almost all are fantasy, there's a wide variety: historical, a horse story, a reworking of "Beauty and the Beast."
As in all anthologies, some stories work better than others. Because the stories are linked to novels by the authors, they also introduce readers to the writers' other works. There's a lot of reading here, and readers are sure to find something they'll enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2020I really enjoyed these stories, they really do touch you, I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I have.

Some stories are lighthearted and whimsical; others are more intense. These stories will appeal to a wide age-range of readers - from school-aged children to retirees. This anthology contains characters from book series written by the authors, so if you find a character you love (which you're sure to do!), you can read more books containing that character. - Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2017This book is a great way to immerse yourself in the holiday season. I was greatly entertained by the charming stories, and one of the best things about this well crafted book was how the collection of stories ranged from poetry to novel excerpts and from children's to teen's to adult level reading but it all tied into the theme of Christmas. Winter Wonder would be a great purchase for anyone who loves reading and Christmas!
