    It had been about a year since I last read one of Lane’s Controller books. Somehow, I got off-track (I blame my TBR pile—ahem, I mean TBR mountain). But I’d been mesmerized by this series in the past, and now that I had picked Deviant Games for my selection in a reading challenge, I was really looking forward to diving into it again. I was not disappointed.

    The author writes so beautifully in a way that allows the reader to really delve into the characters’ psyches, and I love that. We can feel Lillian’s fears and worries as she walks this fairly new path of submissiveness alongside two demanding and unyielding Alphas she loves deeply. We get to see and feel all of Ethan’s satisfaction in protecting and loving his mate, but also his torment at having to share her with the Alpha he often thinks of as certifiable and deranged. Ryker freely admits he might be insane, and we can laugh along with him, but also empathize with how he came to be that way.

    In this episode, we learn a lot more about this triad’s home and private life. Apparently, menage among Omegas and Alphas is rather unusual (although Lane has two books in the series that feature menage), so the life of these three people is eye-opening. As an undercover ops soldier, Ethan is required to complete difficult tasks. Some tasks go against his nature and may put his private life in jeopardy. We learn about some of those consequences in Deviant Games as Lillian’s father orders Ethan to accept a mission that will take him away from her at a critical time. I really hope the author is planning to write more books in the series and will provide us more in-depth information about Verity and Larissa—please!!

    I love Liv Lane's Controller series. This MFM is perfect. The men are men, no MM which is not my thing. Ethan is a brutal warrior of an Alpha who is only tender with Lilly (sigh...) It's perfect. I love Lilly and her struggle to be a fulfilled career woman. I was particularly impressed with the author actually speaking/writing into existence the fact Lilly was so much more than an Omega, and using the fiercest Alpha in the series to point it out! Ryker is the gorgeous party beast. We've all had a Ryker in our lives, which is what makes the character so fascinating. He is Alpha all the way with this quirky , bringin the fun, frat boy vibe. No way he could do a 1on 1. Nor does he seem to want to. Ethan and Ryker remind me of the men who work under acute situations and bond as brothers. It is the best written MFM I have read. And the men are men which allows the woman to be her best self.

    I recommend this series of books for anyone that has moved to the darker side of romance books. It's intense, riveting and seriously HOT! For some, it may have too many triggers, but for others (like me) the intensity of the lust and sex are addicting. I've just finished Book 9 and I'm still just as interested in these books by L.V. Lane as I have been from tbe beginning. She doesn't let us down in any of the books. She's a master at writing these RH books and keeps the pairings interesting and fun.

    Read with KU. I gotta say, I thought I was burnt out on Ethan, Ryker, and Lilly after their 1st 3 books. But, I really liked how their dynamic was explored in this book. Especially the stuff with Ryker. He and Ethan both had a lot of growth and some struggles in this book. But, Ryker's was definitely the most intriguing for me.

    I think the reason this only gets a 3 star rating from me instead of 4, is that it gets a little jumbled with all the story that is trying to be told in a relatively short book. I felt it took a little more time than necessary to get to the meat of the story, and then when we did, it was from a lot of POVs. Including the 3 MCs, we see different parts of the story from a total of I think 6 different characters. I also felt the stuff with both Larissa and Verity could've been fleshed out more. I was starting to get a little turned around with all the new info being thrown at me, and trying to keep track of what I already knew. I think ultimately, this book was just a little rushed.

    Overall, I still really liked the book. There was a lot of character growth for all involved. And, as always, L.V. paints a pretty convincing picture of the world these characters inhabit. I think if the book had been a bit longer, and maybe had another draft or two's worth of edits, it could've been really, really good! Either way, it definitely kept me invested in the series. Flaws and all.

Ryker and Ethan couldn’t be more different, but their love for Lilly is unquestionable. This story picks up after Lilly’s latest close encounter and we watch her do her best to overcome the trauma while her and her mates continue to change and grow in their bond. Also we get to check in with the sweet but strong Verity. And we meet another Omega with her own special gift. A fine addition to a great series. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what happens next.

    In case the heading missed you... Please write more on my favourite trio, family. I am desperate to hear how they deal with whatever you next throw at them, and especially if you can add the burgeoning family into it.

    I am obsessed with Lilly, Ethan & Ryker. The three of them are one of my fave MFM reads of all time.

    Their connection is such a great change of pace from the usual Omegaverse reads. There’s definitely plenty of heat but with these books you also get great storytelling, laughs and a big dose of feels. Definitely recommend.
