    Ok, I’m admittedly a huge fan of The Secret Submissive ever since I read her debut “The Good Indian Girl”. The authenticity of her writing is intoxicating and, well, effectively exciting. This series is really, really HOT too and although not all of the stories are as autobiographical as her debut, they retain the authors voice.

    1) The Main Course - my favorite, super hot
    2) Punishing the Babysitter - a true fantasy, I wanted in on the action.
    3) The Interview - problematic for me*
    4) Escaping a Speeding Ticket - a super tender finish
    5) Lockdown - Locked Up - a much needed release; great insight into the need of a submissive mind.
    6) Holi Heat - hot and fun

    *Overall, this is very much a five star collection. The only story, that for me personally, didn’t work is “The Interview”. Given the power dynamic of a boss during an interview I felt this is the one story where the consensual nature of the interaction was missing/unclear.

    These spicy tales are very sexy - and also eye-openingly explicit, so not for the faint of heart. Even so, the stories have an emotional core of tender vulnerability and longing which adds depth to the heat and passion.

    My main criticism is that the tendency to switch perspective from one character's point-of-view to another's during a scene is disorienting and makes it more difficult to connect with the protagonist.

    Overall, these fantasies are great fun, tinged with danger and the forbidden. An indulgent treat.
