About the author

Moving into her second decade working in education, Jodi Rath has decided to begin a life of crime in her Cast Iron Skillet Mystery Series. Her passion for both mysteries and education led her to combine the two to create her business MYS ED, where she splits her time between working as an adjunct for Ohio teachers and creating mischief in her fictional writing. She currently resides in a small, cozy village in Ohio with her husband and her nine cats.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2021Pork Chopped to Death by Jodi Rath is about two pregnant ladies trying to solve a crime and help their little village to become a nonviolence place once again.
Will Jolie and Ava get to have their charming little town back?
Jolie and Ava are back once again to solve this crime. Well, more of Jolie as she is the main character of this series. Jolie is pregnant with her twins and is suppose to be taking it easy. Instead, she's out there trying to solve a murder in the hot Ohio summer. Jolie is still the same character that we have seen throughout the series but with a lot more backbone. I like seeing Jolie grow as she does in this book.
The Mystery
Jolie doesn't stumble across a dead body, but she hears about it when she's checking up on family members. Ava and Jolie are ready to keep Leavensport out of the clutches of the mafia, but that's hard to do when no one knows how long this has been going on with Tri-City, Leavensport, and the mafia. I think that Jolie and Ava have bitten more off than they can chew. They want to get their village safe before the births of their kids. We don't really know that much about Nancy, the victim, besides the fact that she worked at the police station while being the villagers' main source of gossip. I figured it out before Jolie ever did, and that's always a bummer.
Four Stars
I am giving Pork Chopped to Death by Jodi Rath four stars and recommend it to anyone that loves a good culinary cozy mystery. There are also recipes in the back. Ms. Rath has done another great job on this book, and I can't wait for the next one.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Great Escapes Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
