    The book was very well written and the characters are strong. I liked that it took place in Scotland and that there was Scottish dialect all though the book that was easy to read. I also liked the book because of the Scottish history and the love story between Robin and Suann. Our 20 year old book club read Steadfast Will I Be. We get together once a month to discuss the book for that month that the host has chosen. For this book we were lucky to be able to have Susan join us. We ask Susan questions and she ask us questions The discussion was very interesting and we had a fun evening. Thank you Susan for taking time to be with us. Susan told us that she is writting another book about, Hugh, a character from Steadfast I Will Be.

    I could not put it down. Read it in one day. The rich and vivid character development. The breathtaking scenery detail. I felt as if I were watching a movie. It was a fantastic adventure all the while feeling as if I were interacting with the characters as a bystander. For me, I simply felt that engulfed in the story. I laughed, I cried, I was joyous, I was angry, I was outraged for the characters and I mourned with them. It was an absolute must read. One that can be experienced no matter what your knowledge of it’s history. The author explains it for both the reader who knows their history as well as the reader who does not. I fell into the “does not” category although in the end I was educated in that arena as well. There just isn’t enough to say about the overwhelming emotional intimacy I developed with these characters. I loved every moment. Thank you Susan Furlong

    This is a beautiful love story. It holds you captive from the very first page to the last. You can literally hear the words coming off the page. You feel the terror, anguish, and most of all the love in this well written historical novel. The romantic love between Robin and Suann touches your heart. Bretane's love for the pitiful orphaned child he takes into his protective care and raises as his own touches your heart yet again. The coin is a unique connection throughout the book that you will find intriguing. Romance, intrigue, mystery, history, you will find them all in this exceptional novel. Prepare to be delighted, you will not be able to put this book down.
