About the author

Loretta C. Rogers is a fourth generation Floridian, and proud of her Scots-Irish, German heritage. She admits to using writing as an excuse to avoid cleaning house. In her younger days, she and her pinto mare busted cattle out of the brush. She trailer-trained horses, and competed in a couple of 25-mile trail endurance rides. These days, she rides a rocking chair.
When asked why she writes in different genres, Loretta doesn't mind telling readers that she lets the characters inside her head tell their own story. From Old West lawmen to Contemporary rival drug cartels, Loretta crafts the plot. She calls it, 'getting out of the way,' and letting creativity take over. This is why her tagline is: Romance with a Twist...Expect the Unexpected!
Aside from the fact that I get to be my own boss and go to work in my pgs, I enjoy writing because I get to live vicariously through my characters that are clever and fearless, but in real life I’m afraid of snakes and heights. Let’s face it; I wouldn’t last five minutes as a character in one of my books.
The thing I appreciate most is when readers accuse me of keeping them up all night turning the pages of one of my novels. I also love that I get paid to make up stuff. Other than being addicted to crossword puzzles, I have no hobbies because writing is all consuming and takes a lot out of me.
Something she'd like readers to know--That she is also L.W. Rogers.
Loretta values her readers. If you enjoy her books, she would appreciate your letting others know by posting a review. She prefers FaceBook to Tweeting, and can be found on Pinterest. She hopes readers will drop by and say, howdy!
Happy Reading!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2020Bitter Autumn is Loretta Rogers' best book yet (IMHO). It starts where many stories would end, with the rescue of white women who had lived years as Indian captives. The suspense ramps up from there. Will Birdie's child survive? Will she adapt to white culture again? Will she be able to settle down with the love of her life? This was a thrilling, absorbing read that kept me up until the end. Read it, and then discover the story behind the story! Absolutely fabulous!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2020I haven't read many Western Romances, but Loretta Rogers has definitely turned me into a believer. Her story was laced with historical facts, a gripping plot line, fascinating characters, and exquisite descriptions.. I highly recommend "Bitter Autumn", but be prepared to stay up all night reading it because it was hard to put down.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2020Miss Birdie Mae Dix has been rescued, by cavalry Captain Ford Thackery, from being held by Chief Joseph’s Comanche band when those that are old or un poor health that has slowed the band down while running for Canada. Birdie was abducted at age five; 18 years ago by the Pawnee sold multiple times, and ultimately traded to the Comanche as a pleasure women for Chief’s braves. She is in the company of two other non-indian women, Ester, who is 45 years old and abducted 36 years ago, and Ja’meena, a Negro woman who is 48 years old, abducted 4 years ago.
As the story of the three women unfold, their tale of experiences being held by the indians as literal slaves unfolds in the backdrop of being benevolently held by the cavalry with the indians captured. Romantic feelings develop between Birdie and Ford, as well as between two cavalry sergeants and the other two women. This is an enjoyable poignant story twists, predacious, kidnapping, romance, and ending with and HEA.
This-is is my first novel by Ms. Rogers and it exhibits great realistic characters and an excellent story line. This will not be my last Loretta C. Rogers book. It is highly recommended.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2021This was a story about women being kidnapped and after many years of abuse are found wandering, starving, basically left for dead.
The place is Montana, the year 1877. The U.S. Cavalry found them and are trying to figure out what to do with them.
In this book you’ll find heartache, hope and romance. It was written fairly well but I wanted some parts a little more developed.
