Through the Eyes of a Shepherd Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 20 ratings

"Through the Eyes of a Shepherd" is a devotional book reminding us that being called God's sheep is a compliment...not an insult. Each brief story shared by shepherd and author, Darla Noble, is a reminder of just how blessed we are to be cared for by the Good Shepherd and the assurance that he is always there; listening, watching, providing, and loving. "Through the Eyes of a Shepherd" is an excellent resource for personal or group devotions, sermon illustrations, communion meditations, and children's lessons.

I was in sixth grade when I met (then) up and coming author, Judy Blume. That was the day I knew the title of author was one I wanted beside my name some day. I am strictly a nonfiction writer, specializing in Christian curriculum, parenting/family resources, and devotionals, an historical nonfiction and memoirs.

I write what I know about the people, places, and things that have made me who I am--for better or worse. I am also known for being a storyteller, but my stories always have a take-away; something you can use to better your life and become a better version of yourself.

When I'm not writing, you will find me spending time with my husband, playing with my grandchildren, gardening, reading, walking, and handing out with my dachshund, Charlotte.

I really enjoyed this devotional book. It was as if it arrived at the right time. I was able to read from it and share the stories with a dear friend who was in hospice care. I spent the day with her on a Wed. reading the book and praying. I would read some and ask her if she wanted to hear more and she would shake her head yes. She passed away early on that Fri. I am so happy I got to do this and being a shepherd to her this was the right book for her to hear devotionals from. Love it!!

This book is full of encouragement from God's Word. I wanted to read it all at once but made myself take my time to savor each chapter. The book is so easy to read and draws you right in. The chapters are short and bursting with Scriptures and the author's personal unique illustrations that anyone will relate to. The book is a wonderful mix of encouragement and challenge, making the reading of any given chapter a great way to start your day. I highly recommend to anyone.

I LOVED the devotional Through the Eyes of a Shepherd by Darla Noble. Through Darla’s experiences and interactions with sheep, she will inspire you in your spiritual growth. You will learn to see yourself through Jesus’s eyes. You will learn how much He loves you and that you are uniquely made for His intended purpose. By the end of the devotional, all of Darla’s sheep will have a special place in your heart and be constant reminders of Jesus!

Having a small flock of sheep ourselves, we were of course drawn to a devotional based on the experiences and insights of author and fellow shepherd, Darla Noble. Whether or not you share your life with these delightful creatures, you will thoroughly enjoy (as we did) Darla's touching stories and wonderful observations, and the amazing way she ties it into our relationship with God.
