Chain Reaction: A Baressi Crime Family Romance (Barresi Book 3) Kindle Edition
Dante Barresi. Camilla Rossi has known him forever. She’s loved him, she’s hated him, she’s needed him, and she’s wanted to kill him. They’ve been to hell and back, but every time he comes back into her life, someone gets hurt. And it’s historically been her. Camilla believes, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
But things have changed. Dante is now a powerful man in the New Orleans underground and he makes her an offer she can’t refuse - for more reasons than her pride. She should have run when the only man she’s ever loved demanded a favor from her father, the police chief of New Orleans. But she didn’t and now she’s married to the mob and it’s either going to save her... or destroy her ...

- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2021Another amazing Baressi installment!! I can’t wait to see where this cliffhanger goes! I am really enjoying Dante’s story. Well done!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2019Chain Reaction is Book Four of the Barresi series by Lux Miller. As I had not read the Barresi Trilogy series before reading this book I was not sure if I would have any issues with picking up the series and the characters, even though it says this book can be read without the previous books being read. Just be warned that this book ends with a cliffhanger so you will need to read the next in the series to see what happens.
This is the story of Dante and Camilla who are opposites but have an on again / off again relationship. They also have a very strong bond which results in a love / hate relationship. He comes from a family of New Orleans mobsters. She comes from an upstanding family of the city. The characters are filled with a lot of emotion that plays out in their relationship and the forced marriage which binds their families together. Can they ever break through each others defenses enough to actual make it real or will they always be caught going around in a love/hate cycle?
This story is well written and was engaging from the beginning to the end. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see what happens between Dante and Camiella.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2019Chain Reaction by Lux Miller. This is a spin off series related to the New Orleans Mafia Romance (Barresi Books 1-3). You can read this one without the others, but it may be helpful as characters from previous series are in this one too. This story features Dante and Camilla and their long standing on/off love/hate relationship. This one truly has Good, Bad, and Ugly in it. So much drama- it’s almost hard to keep up with all the side drama going on besides that of the main couple. For the most part, I thought this book was good. At some points, it dragged on and I felt that many issues kept coming up and repeating themselves. It’s told in single POV and switches from present to past and ends on a cliff hanger. - Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2019Wow this wemt from fast to supersonic.
These two have a tenuous relationship.
Two powerful families come together for a city to cool down its animosity. But what seems simple turns violent and bloody. Running means leaving the only man she ever loved and into the underworld of criminal activity.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2019I am not sure that I even know where to begin writing a review for this because it is truly an awesome experience.
The author did such a great job developing the characters, that I feel like I really know them, and not just the major two characters, but the minor ones too.
I loved everything about it - the characters, the plot, the emotion, the writing, and the ability that the author had to tell me a story that had me wanting this book to go on and on.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2019The intensity between the two main characters was immediate from the very first chapter. I was taken in by this same intensity and it got even better as the story continued. This was a suspenseful and wildly exciting ride. The scenes were beautifully written. The characters perfectly flawed. The story mesmerizing. Recommend
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2019I like Dante. I like how he finally manned up and became the man he was supposed to be. So many stories entwined that it is fun to meet the characters again. It was nice to get a glance of Luca showing his human side. Can’t wait to hear more about him and Emily.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2020Lux Miller continues to engage us in the Barresi family. This is book 4 in the series and begins Dante and Camilla's story. They have an off/on, love/want to hate relationship that is full of drama. This book is like West Side Story told in reverse with Dante coming from a wealthy crime family and Camilla's father is the Chief of Police and her brother is a cop, but both families come together to protect the city they love. This story can be read as a stand alone, but I would highly recommend reading the first three first. This does end in a cliffhanger as there will be two other books coming out. Overall this is a wonderful series and will keep you on your toes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Felt no chemistry or connection
Between Dante and Camilla. Couldn't get her problem in not wanting an orgasm and why that wasn't a concern to Dante being all macho and mafia. No more insight than what was revealed in the Emily Baressi series. Hopefully the next book brings everything together.

2.0 out of 5 stars overload of rubbish
The entire story is literally told through long winded conversations between characters - be it relationship , the ‘Mafia’ politics or each characters baring their souls to reveal their inner thoughts ! Honestly I have never seen a group of people talk that much , it was highly unbelievable , unrealistic especially considering both Luca and Dante are ‘ruthless’ guys and Camilla and Emily ‘are feisty’
We get introduced to numerous characters , where Luca’s aunt who is meeting Camilla for the first time gives in depth analysis of each of her children !
And don’t get me started on the amount of highly inappropriate jokes between them or their obsession with bedroom activities which they talk about a lot !
I honestly think it’s lazy writing where you spout off the entire plot in between sentences uttered without any character building or peeling off layers though our the book .
