I hate reading books out-of-sequence, but I 'accidentally' read Book 5 before I even knew this was a series. I enjoyed it so much I bought the boxed set...books 1 through 4. They were excellent. Not too much over-the-top totally implausible action (not that there's anything wrong with that), well plotted, and with characterization that drew me in.

The central premise of these spy thrillers takes the position of the Russian side with the American side being represented, yes, but not as the main thrust of the stories. It makes for a very interesting and refreshing perspective. Is it mega accurate? Is it truly realistic? Who knows... but it is a change of pace which made a novel change from the usual template. Well worth the $4.99.

Did not age well given recent Russian aggression. Plots very similar other than geography. OK read, average at best.

Very glad I stumbled onto this series. Just finished the first book, and really enjoyed it. Interesting scenario, the right level of technical detail, and a great twist to show it from the Russian perspective.
