The Seed Keeper: The Rain Saga trilogy - book 1 Kindle Edition
2086: Fall of Days
Our Insemination Plants, Communities, and survival in general can all be accredited to them. I am sure they have saved us, or at least slowed the inevitable, and, I have to say, none of this would be possible without them. Some say they are responsible for the entire situation in the first place, but from what I have read, I don't agree. They have been so instrumental, we owe them more than we have but they ask for nothing.
2273: The youngest people in the known Territory of Eden turn 18 today, as a quest for the awakening of natural reproduction or the last generations of humankind continues.

About the author

Steve was born in Wollongong one Sunday night in July 1963, at around 21:30 hours, and he grew up in the sleepy mining town of Corrimal in constant trouble with all and sundry. The bush was his backyard, as much was the surf, and bugs and critters were his favourite toys as a boy. Still loves a good critter today as well, and is more than at home in the wilds. Steve would say that civilisation is what lies beyond the messes we live in. Necessity without greed.
He owes Woonona High School 1 egg, a mathematics text book, and 1000 lines regarding his persistence in the telling of a joke when he was told to stop.
He was released into the wild at 17 and a half (the charge: Wilful staging of mirth and merriment in great abundance, and in the absence of trained personnel who would've said NO in the first place) and he set about not setting about all too much. He later moved into a shared house, The Arches, the best house he's ever lived in as a single person, and so began his real and never-ending education. He lived high on the hog of simplicity for a few years in that liberated haven.
A month off turning 20, he left the Illawarra region and set off around Australia with a mate, foisting themselves upon the land, the Australian people, and their taxes.
Having never studied anything at what could be deemed ‘an official capacity’, Steve finds it somewhat amusing that writing is something which simply happened without all that tedious reading of Shakespeare or Keats. Steve has never been to university – unless of course we include using the University of Sydney as a shortcut from Parramatta Rd through to Carillon Ave – and therefore has no idea where this interest in writing came from.
Retired at 51, Steve now resides with his wife in a breezy community down the road from the Taal Volcano at Tagaytay, on the island of Luzon in the Philippines.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2022This first book of the Trilogy sets the stage for a romantic, simple story as to howdy our planet will survive. Like "little H?ouse on the Prairie" only looking ahead instead of back. A pleasant read, looking forward to the next follow up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
In the Seed Keeper (Book 1 of the Rain Saga trilogy) author Steve Rogan paints a vivid dystopian earth of the future. His detailed description of surroundings, landscape, and geography lay the blueprint for this epic tale of survival. As the remanence of humanity try to build a new society after a global phenomenon leaves the population sterile, they are ever conscious of the countdown clock as it marches towards the last breath of humanity on Earth. The technology of the 23rd century seems almost lost to the members of the Communities and after the final artificial insemination plants are destroyed, all hope seems to be gone. Thoroughly enjoyable story, beautifully told. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
