Nowhere Nara (Gifted Girls Series Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 74 ratings

Being dead sucks. But being dead with amnesia? That’s how you lose your soul.

My father told me to kiss a lot of boys and marry the best of the bunch, but now there’ll be no marriage and no tomorrow. Not for me. I’m stuck watching my family fall apart, while my once-best friend lives the life I should have had.

The afterlife can be so unfair.

The grief rollercoaster is not only for the living. Nor is death all peace and serenity for those who move on…or should I say switch plains of existence? Because my soul won’t get to move on. Not unless I can sort through the endless wells of secrets and lies to fit together the pieces of my last day before someone else gets hurt.

Time is running out. Tick-tock.

This young adult, ghostly paranormal mystery about a deceased New Orleans witch is ideal for fans of dark family situations, low-heat romance, and the way individuals deal with grief and trauma.

Definitely a different way of telling a story. It is an excellent story, just unusual. Nara starts out as a ghost at her funeral not knowing who she is or how she died. She gets pieces by touching different ones but it isn't enough for her to know what completely happened. Her little sister, Chloe, can sense her but not see her. Nada has no idea that she is a descendant of witches. Have fun reading the book. I couldn't put it down until I finished it.

I really enjoyed this book within the series. I definitely suggest reading the others in this series do you'll truly get all the relationships and backstory within. Imagine coming too and realizing not only are you no longer in the land of the living, but have no clue WHY that's so. Nora knows who her family are, but she's missing large parts of her memory. This us a quest to find the missing pieces, and possibly piece together her now broken family. There might also be a few surprises along the way. Nora is a very strong young lady through all of this. I can't wait to see what's next in this magical series!

I loved it . I thought the characters were exciting to get to know. I have to go back and read the others books in the series. I want to read even more about the places these characters have been and are going. I want to know whats next in the series.

Nara is watching friends and family mourn her at her funeral. She’s dead but she doesn’t remember dying. They say she committed suicide but that doesn’t seem right. She sees Aaron and remembers he was her boyfriend, and she sees her best friend Renee, but they seem awful chummy and they keep sneaking into her house looking for something. Did one or the other, or both working together kill her? She has to find out. Then another boy named Dylan confronts Aaron and she remembers that Dylan is her soul mate. So what was going on? But she can only learn so much because she is trapped in the house and can’t hear what people say when they leave, and no one can hear her. Only the family cat can see her. Then she gets angry, creates a strong wind that throws things around, and her sister, aunt and Rene realize she is in the house as a ghost or spirit. Now each, for a different reason, want to help her, but at what cost? Then Dylan dies the night of her funeral after arguing with Aaron and now he is trapped on the outside of her house and she on the inside. She just wants to be with him and find out if she was murdered. Something or someone is controlling events and it is up to her female family members to find out, or she and Dylan will forever be trapped, and apart for eternity. This book is about Miri’s daughter, Nara. Nara happens to find herself dead without her full memories, so she sets out to find out how she died. Like the ghost angle and Nara not having her full memories of her life and what led to her death; cool angle. She’s trapped in her house, so she’s becoming frustrated that she can’t really communicate with her family or figure out what exactly is happening. As the story progresses, Nara’s memories begin to come to her, but she’s definitely in for some surprises. There’s also a bit of a sweet romance going on. Liked the connection between Dylan and Nara. I’m so very disappointed in Miri in this book; especially after what Miri’s mother did to her, Miri is doing now to her family. Also, after all the years together, Miri is still keeping Phillip in the dark about witches and such; he has every right to know when his kids are involved. Very disappointed in her; her actions have caused so many issues that could’ve been avoided. This book does move too slowly for me at times; too much time spent on the same types of things, but there are some fun elements. Nara is a tough cookie too and I like her sass. She handles some difficult things pretty well. The series is enjoyable and unique.

WOW! The third book in this series is about Nara, the daughter of Miri and Phillip and older sister to Chloe. She is also the niece of Belle, Miri's sister. Magic runs in the family, it is inherent, BUT Miri refuses to use or teacher her children about magic or tell her husband the full story. She wants her children to grow up "normal" so she disallows all magic in her house and put a protective spell against magic around the house. When Miri finds Nara dead on the floor things start to deteriorate. Especially since now Nara is a ghost and is stuck in her house where she has no memory of anything past or how she even died. Who killed her? Could it have been her ex-boyfriend who she had just broken up with and was on medication for his violent temper, was it her ex-best friend Renee? Who wanted her dead and why does she not remember anything about anyone although she can get visions of things giving her puzzle pieces of her life to put together. What about her newest boyfriend, Dylan? Where does he fit in? Then there is Chloe who seems to have some magic of her own, helped along by Aunt Belle, much to the chagrin of Miri. There is so much going on that once you start reading you just can't put the book down. I love this series and can't wait to see what Chloe gets into next! I received a review copy from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
