    Wanda was a pure soul building the life she wanted for herself, by herself, due to a lack of willing participants among the human male population. She discovers quickly that there are SO MANY other options out there when she’s abducted by alien slavers. Wanda, being Wanda, has taken over responsibility for the ragtag group of human and Vedeckian captives being g held by said slavers.

    Mganak, with the most difficult-to-pronounce Alien name I have ever encountered, happens upon a lifeboat floating in space - his decision to take it in for re-sale is a lucky one, since said lifeboat was holding Wanda and her crew. For whatever reason, the slavers have abandoned their human cargo, thereby providing the opportunity for the captives to escape.

    This story was complex with all the different characters involved. The story with Rafalo gave excellent backstory to Mganak — and I especially loved Darla and Davy. Especially with the unlabeled, but clear autistic representation in Davy. As a parent of an autistic child, I really appreciated that Davy was presented as a person first and that no one came to step in and “fix him”. Because he wasn’t broken, just different.

    I really enjoyed this one and am glad I took the time to get a little more caught up with the series. As always, I wish we had prehensile tails, too.

    There hasn't been one book in this series that I have not loved. From the main characters to the secondary characters you can't help but love them and root for them to succeed from chapter 1 to the epilogue. Mganak, is a Cire warrior who left his home world so he would not be forced to watch them try and manipulate its men to have genetically created children after a plague killed all the women of his race. He's a salvager and while he's making repairs to his ship his alert system goes off. He drags in an escape pod thinking he can sell it for parts. When he opens it he gets the surprise of his life a beautiful flame haired human woman hold a blaster at him surrounded by two human children, a beautiful older human female and a pregnant alien woman. What the he'll is he going to do now, I'll tell you take them in and care for them that's what. When Wanda tells him they were kidnapped from their homes he promises to do everything he can to return them. What he doesn't plan on is falling in 💘love. Wanda is a lovely librarian from down south on her way home from work when she's abducted by slaver aliens. When she wakes she meets a beautiful older woman named Alicia and two children Darla and her brother Davy who seems to be Autistic. They hand together to make their own little unique family. When They are found by Mganak he calls in love with all of them for different reasons. This ragtag little group becomes his everything. I honestly don't want to give anymore away. They secondary characters as I said before you'll love they make everything that wonderful a bit more fabulous including an awesome animal companion. It will warm your heart, make you fall in love and want an alien for your very own. I've been a very "good" girl during this crazy crappy year I wonder if I ask really nicely if Santa will bring me an alien mate of my very own 😘😘😘😘😘💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Human women have been taken from earth bye slavers who intend to sell them to different species whose women no longer exist thanks to a plague that ravaged the universe. But there are good guys out there who are trying to put a stop to it. It seems that saving these females, and most often they have children with them to prove they are breeders, seems to bring out the meeting in instinct of some of these aliens. The stories are wonderful, the children just add that little something special to the stories. There is a little bit of danger, a lot of love, And families that are at the heart made up of different species across the universe.

In addition, it was good to see our Vedeckian male hero from previous books come along and help save the day.     I loved to read the book. It kept me engaged from start to finish. The storyline contains hot romantic scenes, action, suspense and a beautiful HEA. The characters are true and strong. I highly recommend this book.
