4.8 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

Emergency room nurse Jess Chapman has been grieving the horrific death of her sister—and the end of her marriage—for five long years. Living in a fog of grief, she focuses on keeping her feelings buried and helping others. When new information about an old suspect surfaces, and the cold case is reopened, Jess finds herself trapped between the pain of the past and clear and present danger.

Army Veteran Wes Chapman has experienced his fair share of trauma. But coming home from Afghanistan to be with his wife and coping with losing his beloved sister-in-law while battling PTSD left him with unimaginable survivor’s guilt. Amidst the anguish, neither one could hold it together and their marriage fell apart.

Their marriage might be over, but Wes never stopped loving her... or looking out for her. Now he’s ready to reclaim his wife and fight to get his life back. Jess thinks she can handle this nightmare alone, but Wes wants her to realize that even after all this time they are stronger together.

    Finding Forever By Tiffany Lynn

This is the sixth book in the authors Colorado Veterans series I hope that it's not the ending. I thought that this story about Wes and Jessica was perfect and highly recommend it so I'm giving it 5 wholeheartedly stars.

Jessica and Wes Chapman divorced 5 years ago during a dark time for both of them as when he'd returned from Afghanistan with memories of his lost friends. Jess had just lost her sister to a killer who hasn't been found yet. So they broke up, divorced but they both stayed in their home town. Never giving up on helping her Wes quietly makes sure things are done for her. She's his only forever love. But when our of the blue the detective calls with a update on Jess's sisters case the person of interest is now on the move and Wes and the team to into protect more for Jess because they all know she's his target.

Wes never stopped loving Jessica and refuses to stop making sure her walks are shoveled and lawn mowed. When he finds out from the detective that a person of interest is going to cause a lot of problems for Jess he doesn't hesitate to help her. Even when a leak in the department causes problems for Jess they'll pack up and visit his parents. But when they return back home a doorbell camera alert will have him racing back to Jessica to save her from a madman.

I don't have a clue how I missed when this book came out. I stumbled across it and immediately dove back in to the Veterans world. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't gone so long since reading g the earlier ones. My old gray matter doesn't remember as well as she used to. The characters are riveting. The action rises and falls but keeps the reader on the edge of her seat. The HEA is always wonderful. I love catching back up with former main characters.

This has been a fantastic series and Finding Forever fit right in! It was fun to reconnect with characters from the series. My heart broke for Wes and Jess. For each of them and the tragedies they experienced and how they acted and reacted. For how it changed the direction of their lives. I loved the support they experienced from family and friends! And always, I'm a sucker for second chance, and this second chance story was the best! So very well written!

I give this book 4.5 stars. Im a lover of the Coloradowhen I started reading I didn't understand why these two weren't together. But once I got the full story and what each person went through I realized some things are better 2nd time around. They needed to heal separately to become better for each other later.
