MEET THE SISTER TO SISTER AUTHORS
TWO SISTERS: Dr. Marilou Ryder, a doctoral professor, and Jessica Thompson, a designer, and girls' lacrosse coach, take pride in being the authors of nine empowering books aimed at women and girls. Collaboratively, they have conducted interviews with women and girls from various parts of the country, unveiling the landscape of gender disparities. These interviews expose an unsettling truth - despite outward displays of self-confidence, women often harbor self-limiting beliefs that hinder their progress. In order to advance their confidence, it is imperative to confront negative self-narratives such as "I am not good enough," "I'm too old," or "I am not pretty enough," and replace them with self-compassionate and optimistic self-talk. Jessica and Marilou are fully committed to transforming the discourse surrounding women and girls, aiming to bring about meaningful change.
