One of the best books I have ever read! A must for anyone who is in the market for an admin job. After reading, I wrote a journal with notes, ideas, and researched every category and chapter. Within weeks, I had multiple offers from districts throughout California! One interviewee in Oxnard publicly stated in the middle of an interview, "You have so many great answers"! This book is an asset to my professional development and a must have to any personal library (Amazon Customer).
Worth every dollar! Easy read and totally prepares you for job interviews! Worked for me and have recommended it to many friends! (Ali in Cali)
This is a "must read" for anyone who is in the process of finding a new position in educational leadership or for anyone who has been trying to seek out a new position. Dr. Ryder provides strong recommendations that are supported by relevant scenarios to reinforce understanding. She presents practical and down to earth suggestions along with the hidden rules in the administrative world of education. The "scrimmage notes" section provides a tangible way of organizing one's thoughts prior to the interview. If you are looking to get into the game of administration, make sure that you know the rules! Dr. Ryder knows how the game is played. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to be seen as "The first round draft pick." Get this book and get in the game! (David Peay).
I read the book thoroughly and followed the advice. It helped me improve my introduction letters, which got me several interviews. The interview advice helped get me call-backs. I am now a middle school principal, thanks to this book (Kim Hall)

Dr. Ryder's book was pivotal in my securing my next position.Promoting from Asst. Supt. to Superintendent requires a shift in mindset. Herbook aided me in thinking about where I wanted to go instead of where Iwas, completing my resume and application, and most importantlypreparing for the interview.
