A Jamaican Linguist in my own right, hablo muy poco español, I have a good grasp of the English language and my patois nuh stop yah so! I am the last of four children, the third girl of three, have no number two position in the lineup and the first and only to have been born and totally raised without a father ever laying eyes and hands on me. That has never deterred my decision to consciously be happy and attempt at attaining success in my endeavours.

Dyan Constantine is my name; life is my game, I have God on my mind, whoopsie all the time! I grew up in an environment that would have broken many, a single-parent home with a mother at the helm, in a tenement with varying characters, many of which I “auditioned” for the roles but they never suited me. I have no tremendous societal successes to my name; however, I do not rely on society’s scale to weigh how accomplished I feel.

I have sat many examinations, and I have written a few research papers; therefore, one could say I have authored many original documents. However, Fatherless Daughter – Epochs of a Journey has been my most daunting, emotional, fun-filled and dramatic project. It has made me more vulnerable like never before, and it has allowed me to relive many extraordinary moments that even though they were not forgotten, they were archived. Having survived four decades in this world, I feel like I have experiences which not many are aware of, many needed clarity on, and some are very curious about. Journey with me and if you choose, live vicariously through me for these exciting chapters in my first published book.

The title of Fatherless Daughter is the lens through which the author examines myriads of social and emotional issues (family, poverty, sexuality, loss, love, etc.) that have personally impacted her life. This book is truly about survival, specifically the author's survival in a world with an existing stacked deck before her mere entry.Hold onto your seat because this book is fast-paced, raw, and satirical.I highly recommend this book because every reader can connect with some aspect of it. Perfect for a book club because this book will leave you with questions.

    Although this book is about the author's life experiences, it's related. This book teaches us to be humble and not to judge others because we may never know what they're going through in life. The author is hilarious. All in all a great book to read and I would recommend to everyone to read . Because of its large print, even the old can read so that will not be an issue.
