NIGHT WATCHMAN Kindle Edition

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 ratings

Two airliners are heading for London, one from San Francisco, the other from Africa. The weather is blustery, not particularly pleasant, but nothing to worry about. At the same time, Member of Parliament Damian White is in his office chatting to a constituent. Damian is not a minister or anyone important, just a backbencher doing a routine job. Everywhere it's business as usual. But chaos theory is about to strike; this says that a butterfly's flapping wings may be the trigger that sets off a storm. Westminster is blissfully unaware that a storm is about to hit the British political scene. Who can save the day? Maybe the Night Watchman.

NIGHT WATCHMAN:

An intriguing and thought provoking read about a political utopia!! RolfRichardson will educate and entertain

From the Author

I have long been fascinated by politics, but at the same time repelled by the prospect of endless meetings with chairmen too weak to control a roomful of people over fond of their own voices. With very little patience, I have therefore dabbled in back-room politics, sitting on various local committees and three times acting as the candidate's agent during a general election.  I am also a long time member and occasional speaker for the Electoral Reform Society, which has spent the past 135 years trying to change our undemocratic voting system. As in many of my books, 'Night Watchman' also has a large aviation element, reflecting my 25 years as a pilot.  Aviation and politics - an unusual and fun mix.

ROLF RICHARDSON is a mongrel English/Norwegian who loves to travel, starting with service in the RAF, flying Britain's first jet fighter, the Meteor; thereafter 25 years as a British Airways pilot on Argonauts, Britannias, VC10s and 747s.

He then became a roaming photographer, visiting around 110 countries, with over 15,000 photos sold. He has worked his passage on cruise ships by giving lectures. Taken 3 months to drive round Australia.

A few years ago he set out to put his experiences to further use by writing a series of 'Easy Read' books: thrillers with a dash of history, romance and humour.

First came 'THE LAST WEISS', set during the final stages of WW2 in two of his favourite countries, Germany and Norway.

In COFFIN CORNER we move to a fictional airline in 1960s Singapore, with excursions to Australia.

With BEAR BUGGER CRUISE it's off to the Caribbean and the mystery disappearance of a cruise ship passenger.

In NIGHT WATCHMAN we stay in Britain, where disaster strikes the political establishment.

ROAD TO MANDALAY starts in the French Alps, but finishes on the Road to Mandalay. Reason: the strange new world of cyber power.

In STASILAND we're again in Germany, now united but with echoes of the past when death stalks the River Elbe.

LETTER FROM GALAPAGOS is a mystery set in the South Seas with the disappearance of a yacht.

TEA WITH RASPUTIN starts in Alaska, but ends in the mafia world of St.Petersburg
