If we have not met yet, I’m delighted to meet you! Here’s a little bit about me…

I have been writing romance novels for almost half my life, well at least for the last 30 years. I’m a diehard romantic and have to confess the broad shoulders and wicked glint in the brilliant green eyes of a stranger had my breath snagging in my breast, my heart beating madly, and my future flashing before my eyes. At the age of seventeen, I’d met the man I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with.

I write Historical & Contemporary Romance featuring characters that I know so well: hardheaded heroes and feisty heroines! They rarely listen to me and in fact, I think they enjoy messing with my plans for them. Over the years I have learned to listen to them! I have always used family names in my books and love adding bits and pieces of my ancestors and ancestry in them, too!

I've only read the first story "The Marshal's Destiny", but enjoyed it so much I wanted to review it before starting on "The Rancher's Heart".

I have been disappointed in books and audio-books I've read/listen to lately, so I was happy to find a book that is not only entertaining, romantic, and funny, but depicts the history of that time era accurately. The book touches on prejudices against Irish immigrants, as well as dangers facing settlers on the western frontier, as our Heroine, Irish-born Margaret Mary Flaherty, learns first hand when Indians attack the stagecoach she is traveling in to visit her brother in Colorado. She also learns first hand of the corruption of greedy land-grabbers, and just how far they are willing to go to get her brother's ranch.

The book is well written, the characters well developed and believable.

I will update my review as I read the other stories in the boxed set, but this one story is worth the price of the set of books.

These were riveting, realistic stories, way back in time of the Irish.

Each one is a different flavor, like different flavors of coffee leaving a nice after taste in your mouth.

The author has definitely taken pains to make each hero and heroine different, and tie a lot of related incidents within the stories.

Not too much that it overwhelms, and not too little as to annoy. Just enough to spark the attention of the reader and keep the interest, and some.

These stories were not un-put-down-able. But they were not the ignorable type either, where you can predict the HEA. The path to the HEA was wrought with difficulty, and in each one, the hero and the heroine harbored secrets of their own, which had to come out for the trust to blossom and grow.

In all, i enjoyed the collection, and would definitely look forward to more. Some stories were a tad too long, and it nipped at my patience to sit through the whole book. But the means to end is definitely a savory journey the author has taken us on, and doubtless will be an enjoyable one, if only I had more time to sit down and read cover to cover.

This review is overdue - I finished this set of books about two weeks ago at least. Sorry not to have posted this before, I just realized I hadn't done so.

If you enjoy western romances, this set is a bargain. I liked it immensely. I was interested from the very beginning of the first book until I finished reading the last one. The author did a great job with each book - making them an individual story, but having that "connection" between each one. Each story flowed into the next, and yet had it's own tale to tell. The characters were all interesting, and believable. I loved them all. There was some humor, some history, a little suspense and a lot of romance.

Took me a little while to get into the first book, but as the book progressed so did the writing, imo. I am still only on the 3nd in series, as I do not get to read as often as I use to. Although I am enjoying the books, they are not the "I cant put them down" type, at least not yet.

Love a happy ending and all these books give you that. Pleasant beach reading.

It was full of memorable characters and loaded with humor. Each of the stories was hard to put down.

Sex:: there is very little sex in these novels. None in a couple of them. If that's a deal breaker for you I hope this helps. There is plenty of chemistry though.

I thoroughly enjoyed all these books and highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed the books in this boxed set. I like the storyline and getting to meet the characters in Emerson and surrounding areas. I liked that the story was clear and complete, the romance was enjoyable. C.H. Admirand's main characters were appealing, both females and males were strong, supportive not afraid to stand up for what they believed in.

What a great set of stories with such delightful characters whose friendship runs through each tale. Loved all the heroines, but Jessi was my particular favourite, and many passages which featured her, had me laughing out loud. A super lot of men inhabit these books, all different but very likeable and, in the case of at least one, loveable too. I found the Irish brogue extremely pleasant to the 'ear' when reading Jessi's and Meg's stories. C.H. Admirand writes beautifully and the dialogue is excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable read.

Characters introduced in one story again make appearances in the next and following story. Keeps you turning the pages to find out how the situations further develop.
    1) US Marshall Joshua Turner rescues Maggie Flaherty, and falls in love with her. She's on her way to her brother Seamus (now James Ryan). Marshall is on his way to James Ryan regarding cattle rustling. Marshall believes Seamus is Maggie's intended when she flies into her brother's arms when they are finally reunited.
    2) The Rancher's Heart: Bridget O'Toole and her son Mick were abandoned 13 years ago. Mick is caught rustling James Ryan's cattle, but Ryan gives the kid a chance when he learns of his situation. He also takes in Mick's widowed mother, who is starving herself so her son has enough to eat, and falls in love with her.
    3) The Committee for the Betterment of Emerson tries to disown Pearl, selling her ranch (believing it to be a whorehouse) from under her to Bostoner Davidson Smythe. Smythe does not appreciate being used and he is also in danger from back home.
    4) A Gift from Home: John Reilly, one of James/Seamus' ranchhands and best friend, gets floored by an unexpected and not-recognized visitor from home, Jessi Fahy, who was 13 when he left Ireland.

This writer has had several of these books sold but i found the story predictable. Neither I or my wife finished it. It was not worth the cost of the bedroom light!
