4.3 out of 5 stars 395 ratings

Endurance and Strength in the Face of Tragedy

In Memoriam begins with the birth of a baby boy to Pam’s former boyfriend, Dan and daughter, Lisa as the journey of Pam of Babylon continues in this seventh volume. Still reeling from the death of her beloved son Brent, Pam endures life at the beach with remarkable strength.

Sandra tries to balance several versions of her life while striving to be part of the Smith legacy.

Lisa rises above circumstances that would destroy most, with determination.

But don't be too impressed; history does have a way of repeating itself.

I liked the series enough to do a binge of reading all the Pam of Babylon books after I read Pam 5, I read them all in order without reading any other books until I completed the series. I would consider them beach books as they are a good read. They are well written, interesting and a great escape. I also liked the play on Babylon being Babylon, NY which is not what I thought when I got the first book.
Other reviews have given the plot desicription so I will not. I highly recommend the series as a great escape, very much a soap opera. The only problem I saw was the series depends on each other to know what is going on. However, each book was iinteresting in its own way. I am hoping there is a Pam 8 and 9 coming out soon as I really enjoyed this series

Wow! What goes around comes around! This may not be great literature, but it IS good old-fashioned fun reading, full of characters you care about, jaw dropping surprises, satisfying acts of revenge, the best and worst of human nature. The Pam of Babylon series is great (and bonus! Affordable!) for reading poolside or curled up with a glass of wine. In Memoriam is a wonderful installment, and I hope to be reading about Pam for a long time into the future. Thanks, Ms. Jenkins - if you continue writing, I'll keep reading! Highly recommend this and all the Pam books!

The beginning started off a little slow. later, in the chapter , several characters converged onto the scene and it was confusing as to whom they were and why they were there, but later, it picked up and held my interest until the end. Overall, it was a great read.

Another GREAT story in the life of Pam Smith, of Babylon. I tried to read this slowly to savor each word. I'm sad that today I finished it and am truly hoping that this cannot be the end of the line for this series. These characters have become part of MY life, albeit by way of the written word of Suzanne Jenkins. I really want to know what happens to these people after this book ended. They all have so much life left in them and too many stories left to be told.

All I know is that Pam is a much stronger person than I am to have gone through so much and come out on the other side intact. I realize she and her family are fictional characters, but who knows, maybe one day I'll run I to one of them when I'm out in Babylon!

Thank you Ms. Jenkins for sharing your stories and talent with us! You have kept me entertained for a long time now, but not long enough. Please keep the books coming!

    Contains spoilers.

This chapter of Pam had so many twists and turns within the family. Relationships are complicated, and become more complicated.

Lisa is grown up and is becoming her mother... but stronger in a way Pam wasn't as a young wife and mother.

Sandra's life is full of turmoil as are the remnants of Ashton's family.

And as for Pam... just when you think things might be falling into place...

When I first started the Pam of Babylon series, my first thought was oh no!!. A woman in the worst possible position going through the worst possible situations. I couldn't put it down until I finished it and kept on going through each book which I had to read through to the end.
I finished Book 7 the first day it came out and am impatiently waiting for Pam Book 8.
In "In Memoriam" Pam is really showing her strength dealing with people she thought were as dedicated to her as she was to them. We see a different Pam, a stronger, much wiser Pam. I loved this book, as with the others I couldn't put it down. Loved this surprise ending!!! It made me smile.

I am slowly working my way through this series of books and they are all excellent. Some reviews say they struggled with too many characters. If you've read the books in order it's really easy, but as a stand alone book I can see how it would be a problem.
