About the authors

Clarissa Lake grew up watching Star Trek and reading Marvel Comics. She attended science fiction and fantasy conventions where she met many well known science fiction authors and attended their readings and discussion panels. They included scifi greats Anne McCaffery, CJ Cherry, George RR Martin, Ben Bova, Timothy Zahn, Frederik Pohl, Orson Scot Card.
After years of fruitless efforts to get her books published traditionally, she discovered Kindle Direct Publishing and became an Indie author-publisher.
While she loves scifi, she always thought there should be more romance so she started writing it hot and steamy.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2018Alexa James, our heroine, has dreamt of an alien in a space craft, who comes for her. She is not afraid, far from it, but she cannot see his face. Chaytok Larrin of Narovia has given up on finding is fated mate or meomee. He has decided to purchase a space craft and land on Vesta Three and make a new life for himself. His ship malfunctions just as he is passing through the Sol system (Earth's solar system).
He is forced to land quite near Alexa. There are several bits of tension in this story, but our hero and heroine make it through together.
If you like sci-fi romances, I think you might enjoy this light-hearted one. There is no great drama or scary stuff. Just a comfortable read while waiting for an appointment or to pass the time enjoyably.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2018I've read other stories by this author, and like the meomee mates idea, which I think few into my enjoyment of this relaxing quick read. Light on plot, at times written in an awkward style, and in other places needing a proofreading / rewrite to catch missing and wrong words, this is a straight forward story about two people who can't help but wonder how they came to be in the right place at the right time, and I'll admit, I like Chaytok's theory/ explanation.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2017The storyline was predictable, as other reviewers have written. There is zero suspense, minimal danger to either character, no sexual tension.....you know you want them to get together and fly away into the sunset but you don't want it to happen quite so easily. Make it exciting! Never let them shuffle off to greener pastures or, worse, fall asleep.
There are so many fun stories available and the competition is pretty tough. Your story better stand out or readers will quickly move on.
Add more dangerous danger.
Allow attraction that slowly builds.
I hope this helps.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2017Loved it. Can't wait to read more from this author. I voluntary read and reviewed this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2023I remember reading this book somewhere else, maybe an anthology? Anyway it was short and sweet with lots of steamy scenes and insta-love. Lawrence should have come back later in the story in my opinion but since it was a prequel I guess they aren’t that long.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2017If you love aliens you'll love this book. Well-written pot and fantastic characters.I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2017If I could, I would have given this book a zero star rating. While I think the basic idea is a good one, this book made me want to scream and throw my ipad into a wall.
Why?
The couple had sex about five minutes after meeting and kept doing it through the entire book. The characters were flat and had no personalities.
I hope this was just first book jitters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fate intervenes
This is a fun short read. The plot is very fast. In the beginning it felt like steps were being missed but it evened out. The fast pace was explained but is still felt a little rushed to me, especially in the first meeting. That did not spoil my enjoyment though.
Chaytok is interesting and complex. Alexa is hurting and certain of her future. Both characters have depth and a longing which the book delivers upon.
The story detail is full and there are enough side plots that the story has depth.
I did enjoy the book and hope you do too.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book

1.0 out of 5 stars Needs editing
This book started off interesting enough in the sample chapters, I decided to buy it. I wish I hadn't. This book seriously needs to be edited. I can usually ignore small mistakes, but there were just too many, too often. I hate not finishing books or skipping through parts, but I found myself skimming through most of the book. Character development was too shallow, as well. I had been interested in the next book in the series, but am not anymore. Would not recommend.
