Clarissa Lake grew up watching Star Trek and reading Marvel Comics. She attended science fiction and fantasy conventions where she met many well known science fiction authors and attended their readings and discussion panels. They included scifi greats Anne McCaffery, CJ Cherry, George RR Martin, Ben Bova, Timothy Zahn, Frederik Pohl, Orson Scot Card.

After years of fruitless efforts to get her books published traditionally, she discovered Kindle Direct Publishing and became an Indie author-publisher.

While she loves scifi, she always thought there should be more romance so she started writing it hot and steamy.

    This book 3 in the Farseek Warrior Series is a well-written book in a great Alien romance series! The story is great and the characters have depth and you want to get to know them and they all have their own unique personalities. She is on a mission to find her friend's killer and he has to save her. I really enjoyed this book. A must read series of soul mates.

    When Rorans friend is killed he sets out to investigate and avenge the brutal murder. During his investigation he follows his habit of looking over slave markets for some of his people that had been taken from Farseek. Instead of finding any of his own he found his solmatu/ his soul mate. Becca had been stolen from Earth and sent to the slave market. After Roran buys Beçca he continues on his mission and finds that his friends murder is much bigger than he first thought. As he follows the clues he and Becca dodge danger while their bonds grows stronger. Though this can be read as a stand-alone it is part of a series so is only part of a larger story. It contains no cheating and does not leave you with a cliff hanger.

    Great characters. Roran is in search of revenge for the killing of his friend. As is his habit, he takes a look at the slave auctions to see if anyone from Farseek is there. He doesn't find anyone except is soul mate. Becca has been kidnapped from Earth and is sold as a slave. Roran buys her to save her and they continue on with his journey. There is real chemistry between the two and they don't try and avoid it. But there is a bigger picture and the danger is way more serious than they thought. Roran will do anything to protect Becca.

    I liked the characters. Their actions and reactions were 'real' and you could feel their connection. They were a good couple. I think you'll miss something if you read this as a standalone. There is a bigger picture in the Farseek universe and even though Roran and Becca could stand alone, you'll miss a lot of backstory. I enjoyed the book and I've enjoyed the previous ones. Looking forward to what's next. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

    Becca's and Roran's story reads like an old detective novel set in space, add in that she's his solmatu ( his fated mated) and corrupt government official hellbent on making sure you don't live to tell what you've learned. Seems like everyone's on their tail. It's a good story,worth reading.
