Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

From the time she was old enough to form such bold opinions, D. Gabrielle Jensen has loved good music and robust storytelling, hated the sound of her government name, and yearned for the commotion and serenity of a major metropolis. She has won writing awards she forgot about long ago, and college was a string of 4 a.m. discussions and Greek mixers so she filed all of that away as inconsequential.

Out in the wild, D. can be found roaming rooftops and alleyways with her camera, screaming in the front row of a concert, or on the hunt for a damn fine cup of coffee. Or just hanging out at home with her cat. Follow her online, strike up a conversation, and she’ll gladly take all those black jellybeans off your hands.

This book of poetry seethes beautiful, magical pain. With every line you can feel the raw emotion of the writer. Some of the works you will catch yourself saying, “I could have written this, these could have been my words,” as D. Gabrielle so effectively captures love and unrequited love in each word.
If you’ve ever been in love, lost love, felt unrequited love, you will find something that speaks to you within these pages.
I cannot wait to see what is next!

This is a book for anyone who has had their heart broken and is looking for solace with a sister-in-arms. Jensen’s poems are full of emotional but not oversentimental: they are quick, conversational in style, easy to understand—each word carrying power and charge. This book is truly excellent read!

Love, sweet and joyous. Love, aching and unrequited. Love of music and life. Pain and loss. Grief. Resilience. All of these emotions are packed into this volume of poetry, like the words to songs not sung, but felt and lived. At times, raw and painful, but always beautiful, this collection will move you. Highly recommended.
