I love all the stories from Pam of Babylon, which is one of my favorite series. This book talks about Julie dating Brent and continues through her father killing Brent and it's immediate aftermath. Great short story!

The plots of the Pam of Babylon books are always pretty dark. This prequel gives the back story to Julie Hsu but it seems like it should have been part of the other books since it is just a scene or two. The author expands into Julie’s poor choices. It is well-written but I was not impressed. I received the book free but my review is voluntary.

At this stage of the Pam of Babylon game every discerning reader knows this series is nothing more than a good old fashioned soap opera for those who would rather read than watch TV. All the characters are petty, narcissistic, and plainly tstl. Every one of them is selfish, judgemental, and gossiping backstabbers to the nth degree. Not a single one of these people consider monogamy important or faithfulness important. The trading of sexual partners, incest, adultery, and other betrayals are rampant throughout the series. Pam herself is a masochistic Pollyanna and it seems that every single person in her life is a user. It's apparent that she knows this, is hurt by it, yet continues to allow it. The family dynamics of this series is so over the top dysfunctional that I honestly can't justify reading it, except that it's the proverbial train wreck in writing. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Waiting for the next installment 😂

This opens a new door to an exciting new part of this story. You need to read this short novella to understand how Julie will be intermingled with the rest of the characters. Cute and well worth the $.99 price.

I love the short stories that Suzanne writes as a prequel to her next story. It's nice to know more about the character Julie and Brent's death. I'm anxiously awaiting her next book in the series.

Really short reminder of some of the past plot! I and my husband ABSOLUTELY LOVE this series!!!! Can't get enough!!!!

Julie dated Brent, the perverted son of Pam & Jack Smith, and I wondered why she warranted a “prequel.” Well, keep reading, and you’ll find out why.
