Lorelei Johnson is an Australian romance author, primarily writing Paranormal Romance and Fantasy Romance. She graduated from Flinders University, where she studied English Literature and Creative Writing before she discovered her degree was useless and she hated studying in an institution. She went into administrative work where she learnt just enough business sense to start publishing her own books.

Lorelei is fuelled by caffeine and sarcasm, priding herself as a true 90's kid. She labels her self-publishing as anti-establishment, but really she's just a chicken who decided to avoid the gatekeepers all together and enjoy the freedom to write whatever the heck she likes. Through her writing, she likes to explore the many facets of love and revel in a little magic and a little smut, of course.

    Wow! I went into this book not sure what to expect and came out pleasantly surprised. I would certainly love to see this one turned into a full length book where we see the male perspective and maybe some added scenes. It was a fun adventure that built the intrigue and the steam as the story unfolds. Great story and I love the two main characters! Fantastic read!!!

    I love a fairytale retelling and this one was no exception. I loved Nadia's intelligence and her independesewnt streak despite having been robbed of her freedom for so many years. This story was short and sweet and sexy. I'm very wishy-washy on my feelings towards Rumplestiltskin, on one end i wish we'd have gotten his POV on the other i like that he kept his cloak of mystery to the very end. I'd definitely re-read this fairytale.
    Only two things i really would have added to the story are 1) her cell key acquiring mission. 2) Atiny bit of back story on this Sage of the Forest that helped Nadia's parents so often. Aside from those 2 things this novella hit all my tickle spots

    This story has potential. I removed 2 stars for the poor grammar. Lots of mistakes and the fact that the author did not use quotation marks for any of the dialogue. Lost another star for the lack of building chemistry between the two main characters. They have very few interactions and dialogue before they are in bed together and “in love.” Doesn’t make sense when the characters hardly have a real conversation beyond a few flirtatious words. Other than that, I think the story has potential if it were worked on a bit more. Also, the introduction of the sage made no sense and Oberon-other than his warning. Both could be strong characters in the story of given more thought.

    Can I just start off by saying how obsessed I became with this book?! It was completely amazing!

    The romance, world-building, and character building all happened flawlessly within a fast-paced story. I usually don’t read fast-pace anymore but boy am I glad I did. The mysteriousness surrounding Rumplestiltskin kept me flipping page by page and wanting to know more. Every free chance I got I read a few chapters and it was so hard to get away and back to my daily duties.

    This is the first book I read from Lorelei Johnson but I became hooked. From now on I will be on the lookout for her upcoming books and I invite you to check out her stories!

    Beautifully written fairy tale! I was wary going in, I have read several retellings and they are not always my favorite. But this was the exception! The origin story remains the same, but instead, we move into the future to meet Rumplestiltskin in a creative twist.
    I loved Nadia. She was not a pushover, but strong and feisty. Rumplestiltskin was complex, dark and nuanced. Together they were dark, steamy and beautiful.
    It's a short, passionate read that you will read in one sitting. The pace is excellent, with enough twists and actions to make the HEA feel so worthwhile.

    I received this book as an ARC and I fell IN LOVE! This story followed the same main points of the original story rather than some I've read that left me questioning where the tie-in came from.
    Quickly I found myself falling for none other than Rumpelstiltskin.

    I've never read any kind of book like this before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But this book was a pleasant surprise! It's very well written, and is a quick and fun read. It kept me reading until the very end! I very much enjoyed this book. Who knew Rumpelstiltskin could be so sexy!

    Rumpelstiltskin was one of my favourite fairy tales when I was little and I wasn't sure what to expect from this story. I'll admit, I was nervous. But I am thrilled to say that I absolutely loved every single page of this book! That's right, every single page!

    The prologue sets the scene with a miller's daughter who the king believes can spin straw into gold. Of course, she can't do it and that's where the mysterious, magical, Rumpelstiltskin appears to save the young lady from death when the king finds out. But her salvation comes at a price...

    Fast forward 28 years and we're introduced to a feisty, strong-willed princess named Nadia. Having failed to find love with any men in the kingdom, the queen is adamant that her daughter must marry. On the day of Nadia's 'suitor' party, she finds herself frustrated and decides to slip outside to clear her head. That's when she stumbles upon a forgotten part of the castle and discovers a prisoner.

    But he's no ordinary prisoner. He captivates and intrigues the princess... but can she trust him? And if she does, will it end well for her? You'll have to read it to find out 😉

    Many will know the original tale of Rumpelstiltskin so you probably know the overall plot of this story. But I promise you that this is worth your time. 

    Written in third person, this beautiful story is fast paced with just enough 🔥 to satisfy my romantic heart.

    I for one hope Lorelei Johnson has many more retellings in store for us 😍

Along with the imagery and depth of emotion that Lorelei pours into her writing, this fairy tale installment followed a beautiful character development in the two protagonists. Watching Nadia and Rumpelstiltskin try to play each other and get the upper hand but ultimately grow to love and trust each other beyond any other relationship in their lives is truly magical!

    Lorelei Johnson is a new to me author and I picked up this book because the one I was reading wasn't really working for me. I decided to try something different, quick, with a bit of steam, and I wasn't disappointed.

    Also, this book cover is next-level-stunning ❤️❤️❤️

    I really enjoyed this novella. I felt the chemistry between the characters and I liked Nadia. She was stuck, but she showed her strength.

    Rumpelstilkskin was sexy and mysterious and I could definitely understand the appeal - even without the soul mate element.

    I think when you read this book you have to remember that it's the retelling of a fairy tale, and therefore, things that happen in 'normal' romances that don't usually work for me (insta love) are acceptable, because that's what happens in fairy tales.

    I would actually love to see this turned into a novel so that there's no limitation on word count. This novella is a take on the original fairy tale, but with new characters and dynamics added, which are worth exploring.

    Rumpelstilkskin is one of them. It was clear that the fae around him feared him and that he had a dark past, but we didn't get to see what that was.

    I'd love for his dark side to have been revealed to Nadia and for their relationship to have grown with full acceptance of all of him.

    I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
