- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2021Accomplish your goals using an unconventional approach. The author breaks down the unspoken reasons people fail, and what to do to get back on track.
The author has a positive attitude and provides a lot of support and coaching through her words. For example, I love how she frames failure as a choice, and that you only fail if you stop the pursuit.
The chapter on ‘self sabotage’ was excellent. It includes why you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself, and why you shouldn’t be so concerned with what others think about you. I use this book as good, bite sized pep talks when feeling deflated or stuck. I recommend this book if you aren’t achieving your goals, and want some ideas on how to fix this. It will likely help you diagnose and fix a problem you didn’t even realize was getting in your way.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2021I choose a five rating because I found the book very easy to read and could relate to the information given. I found information that I could discuss with my children a junior in high school and a senior in college. They both needs important information on goals, action plan and signs to know you are heading in the right direction. I am fifty four years old and I found some new ideas to use in my every day life. Very easy to read and keeps you wanting to read more to see what more knowledge the author has to share.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021I have been on autopilot for awhile! Taking on the same mundane daily tasks without a true goal in sight. Then I read Dirty Goals. Wow! This book has reignited a fire in me to get started! Dirty Goals gives you the tools to be successful. The book offers the following suggestions: utilizing mind TAPing, journaling, to do lists, and much more. Everyone who has a goal needs to read it. I gave it five stars due to the excellent content and the new perspective it gave me.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2022Dirty Goals appeals to me at many levels. I believe Mitlyng’s sermon and indeed, have lived many of them. Write down your goals: Career, work, resolutions and personal. It’s very important to do that. I love one statistic (I’d never heard before but believe it heart and soul) A study of Harvard Graduates showed that 3% of the graduates, THE ONES WHO WROTE OUT THEIR GOALS, had 10 times the income of the other 97%. Think about that, folks. Just by writing out your goals, you can get ahead in life. The author also tells you (and it is important advice) to look at your goals from a different angle. Personally, I make a list EVERY evening of the 5 or 6 things I want to accomplish the next day, and leave it taped to my computer screen or wrapped around my glasses. That way I don’t have to think about them all night, and can get right to work in the morning. Dirty Goals might help you clean up your act.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2021I actually started using the ideas right away. This book found me when I was kind of in a funk. It helped me find a way out.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2022Good invalid reasons given for working on a personal goals especially as it pertains to making you feel more energized. Particularly like the SMART goalsetting technique. Then adding Dirty. Meaning get in there and do the work. Good stuff. I like how the author offers developmental tools to create a plan that helps us to TAP into an action plan.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2022I found this book to be very helpful. I've always struggled with setting goals, preferring more to go with the flow. Dirty Goals is a different kind of goal-setting book. It allows flexibility, and shows how to incorporate flexibility with SMART goal-setting. Thanks so much for giving me a tool that I can actually use to set my goals for 2022 and beyond.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2021Dirty Goals is an excellent book, especially if you like to think outside the box when doing things. Traditional goal setting may work for some, but if you're not sure where to start or you don't like sticking to a ridged set of rules, this book is for you. Creating goals for your life should be fun and motivating, like the book says!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unconventional and practical
I read Dirty Goals in one sitting. There are some really practical methods to help you discover what is important to you or to find out what you might like to pursue, personally. Throughout the author shares how she made these discoveries for herself and how finding your way to do things as opposed to doing what everyone tells you is best always! Her book is about setting personal goals and she provides strategies and tools that might help you. She isn’t telling you to follow her strategies but giving you insights into her process and permission to break the rules!

5.0 out of 5 stars Motivational, Inspiring and Practical!
This book highlights the importance of personal goals and explains how to identify them. The author shares her story, describes different types of life goals and explains why we need more than conventional goals to feel fulfilled. I totally agree with the author when she states: "By choosing to make yourself and your mental peace a priority, you can change your situation." Highly recommended.
