A strong, feist heroine who knows her own mind and writes what she knows. A retired captain from the Napoleonic war who writes under an assumed name to honor those with whom he served, and the families of those who didn't return. Add in a secret league, staunch friends of both the H and h, a misunderstanding, and a writing challenge that leads to more background inspiration than expected, and you have A Lady and Her Quill. And this is only book one! On to see what's next for these ladies and the men who support and love them. BTW, this is a clean read with some kissing.

This story is about writers and the publishing of books. It uses characters within that scope to be a lady author and gentleman author who in the end realize they do not have to compete in writing or love

An unusual twist has the story of two authors, writing different types of stories, coming together unexpectedly!

When she receives a bad review on one of her books, pushing her to be more like another author. What she does not know is that he is being pushed toward her!

As these two meet and end up working together to write a story about stolen goods. Little did they know, the villains would be after them!

Enjoyable with a little mystery, a wounded hero, and a journey to finding love!

    Totally brilliant
Alicia and Justin are both successful authors, her a romance novelist and he writer or wars and battles, but both their stories lack a strong person of the other gender and an anonymous review plus Justin’s uncle throws them together
I totally loved both Justin and Alicia, they are both strong and determined characters with their own strengths and weaknesses but this made them seem so much more real and human. They completely stepped off the page for me and the danger, drama and intrigue that they both have to work through made them even more compelling and had me wishing to know more and to keep following their lives even after the book ended
This book drew me in from the very first page and had me hooked within a chapter. I imagine that as an author it is difficult to write a book with the main characters as 2 authors and I think this has been done really well. I could feel all of the emotions that they both went through and the writing was so skilled that I forgot the characters were fictional and that I couldn’t read any of their books!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a historical romance with a difference that you will love right from the very start

Really enjoyed this book. The characters were so realistic and relatable, it was easy to feel their pain and their joy. The dialogue was delightful, with no typos nor grammatical or syntax errors. Wonderful! The storyline was a bit complicated at times, and hard to follow … there was so much action going on with so many of the characters, I find I tended to lose interest. But in the end it all came together. It was a lovely story and well worth the effort.

I'm sorry but it failed to keep my attention. I tried. I read through more than half but I just couldn't finish. Did not care about any of the characters enough to find out what happened. She's a twit. He's a wining know it all. The conversations are confusing. The flow is jerky and I hate the secondary characters, especially her so called friends. Big nope for me.

This book is full of really good characters and chemistry, with a slow burn romance and lots of mystery/intrigue which i love and looks to be a great series in the offing.
I’m looking forward to reading more from this series and author.
