What a wonderful story in Daisha Gets the "i" in KIND by Suzan Johnson. The illustrator, Marcos Rodrigues did a remarkable job of the images in the book. The characters were kind and very realistic. This book is about kindness that comes naturally, something you don't have to think about, you just do. Daisha get an award, a large I, and then she is told why she got this award. She then thinks about how others are kind. This book would be perfect to read to a child or have the child read it back. It has a great moral to it. It's fun to read, and very enjoyable. Daisha Gets the "i" in KIND is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I look forward to reading many more stories by this author.

I read this book with my 6 year old son. I loved the many examples of kindness included in the book. My son Interrupted many times to say "I do that too" on some of the examples. I like how they showed that Daisha learned her kindness from seeing her family show kindness toward others. My son and I went through the discussion questions at the end of the book as well

A girl gets an award for being kind and the teacher walks her through the different things she does that are kind. Daisha recognizes kindness in several of her family members as well. Her observation of the kind deeds of family role models most likely influences her to be kind and this book too can influence the reader towards kindness by the many examples of kindness contained in it.

Daisa got an I in kind word and she deserves it. She was helping and true, a good friend. The book is about kindness and good character building. Illustrations are clear and bright although text content is a bit more.

4.0 out of 5 stars introducing different examples of kind behavior
Reviewed in Canada on January 8, 2023
I like the examples of kind behavior this book introduces! It’s helpful for young children to understand that they can be kind by doing something simple in daily life! The book also infers the importance of modelling kind behavior by the whole family to young children!
