5.0 out of 5 stars 3 ratings

Beneath the streets, a feral fury stirs.
Concertgoer, soul hunter, fiery redhead, wielder of weapons and wit: Fia Drake is many, many things. One thing she is not? Helpless.
But when demons separate her and her low-key love interest, Max Hawkins, she is powerless to prevent them from torturing him—or worse.
Fighting her way through the city’s underbelly with grit and fire, Fia is painfully aware that the clock is ticking. And apart from Max’s well-being, she has two other major problems on her plate.
Problem #1
She’s got a traitor on her tail, and she still can’t pin down who it is.
Problem #2
A deal with a boss demon threatens to turn sour if she can’t keep her head in the game.
In this energetic and explosive conclusion to the Fia Drake, Soul Hunter Series, every second counts. She must ensure Max’s release, find her traitor, and keep up her end of the demon bargain—all while keeping her rage in check. Can Fia gain the advantage in time—or will her hands be shackled for eternity?

Move over, Jessica Jones! There's a new boss bitch in town, and her name is Fia Drake.

If you want action, adventure, hot drummer dudes, and zombies that maybe aren't zombies, you are not going to want to miss this series! Pull up a seat and get ready to bag and tag escaped evil from Hell.*

* Crossbow lessons not included.

-Shannon McRoberts

USA Today Bestselling Author

Fia is a strong-willed female character who constantly breaks the boundaries of acceptability, doing as she pleases to the point of recklessness. As a reader, you want to understand what created this aloof, untouchable aspect to her. Jensen creates a vivid world, mixing good/evil, religion, and mythology to push the boundaries of what possibly exists in the dark alleys of our cities. Can't wait to enjoy the rest of this series.

Author, Sessions with a Demon

Whiskey and Ink is emotive, sometimes sexual, and as with its predecessor, packed with mystery.

Fia Drake is the kind of heroine who punches you in the gut and you gladly ask for more. Whiskey and Ink, the second installment of the Fia Drake, Soul Hunter series, delivers that gut punch from beginning all the way to the end, which leaves you begging for book three.

Author, Stir Until Petrified

Fia is wonderfully authentic in ways that some current writers would not have bothered. She takes a splash of PTSD and mixes it with her alcohol and sex in a very real way. D. Gabrielle takes darkness and grunge and makes them beautiful.

What really stands out is Jensen's ability to breathe life into the gritty city street life that shapes her protagonist.

About the Author

What began with a princess captured by a pirate and rescued by a dragon has developed into D. Gabrielle Jensen's lifelong fascination with stories of the unexpected and unexplored. She has dabbled across many styles and genres, but whether through startling, staccato works of pulp horror or the dirt and grime of urban fantasy, she always finds her way back to speculative fiction. An award-winning bestseller, D. is built from drumbeats and hot asphalt. Even as an imaginative child in the rural mountains of Colorado, she felt pulled to the chaos and clamor of The City-any city, every city. With this in mind, she aims to infuse her work with mortar and music. Her favorite views of any city are from the rooftops and the side streets. She strives to show the beauty of both in her stories, urging readers to walk the streets with her as she introduces them not only to powerful heroines and antiheroines but to the buskers, bartenders, and baristas who make up the fabric of every city. If writing be her first love, music is the trusted friend D. turns to when that love forgets her birthday. She can sing along with new songs before they've finished playing and set up a drum kit blindfolded. She can't remember a time when she didn't know how to play her parents' vinyl records. She has one Spotify playlist (out of many) that can run for two full days without repeat and an active hatred for paperless concert tickets. She works that love of music into her writing through allusions to lyrics in imagery, characters named after songs and musicians, and behind-the-scenes playlists. She will even write to a metronome if she needs to give a scene just the right cadence. D. loves things that begin with the letter C-coffee, cats, cities, conversation, concerts-and things that don't-airports, humans, macrophotography, urban decay, macrophotography of urban decay, and the beauty of flaw. She encourages everyone to join her across social media and on Patreon. Strike up a conversation. Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

From the time she was old enough to form such bold opinions, D. Gabrielle Jensen has loved good music and robust storytelling, hated the sound of her government name, and yearned for the commotion and serenity of a major metropolis. She has won writing awards she forgot about long ago, and college was a string of 4 a.m. discussions and Greek mixers so she filed all of that away as inconsequential.

Out in the wild, D. can be found roaming rooftops and alleyways with her camera, screaming in the front row of a concert, or on the hunt for a damn fine cup of coffee. Or just hanging out at home with her cat. Follow her online, strike up a conversation, and she’ll gladly take all those black jellybeans off your hands.

Jensen certainly outdid herself in the final part of the Fia Drake, Soul Hunter trilogy.

We start off finding that Fia has been taken by the enemies, and needs to quickly regain her freedom. Time is of the essence to save Max and her friends.

The urgency follows through the whole book. Fia has to consistently make deliberate and sometimes heartbreaking choices. There is one scene in particular that had me at the edge of my seat, filled with dread and sadness.

Rage and Release is an outstanding finale, that wrapped up Fia’s story beautifully. I absolutely recommend this trilogy for anyone interested in urban fantasy, demonic fantasy, or wants an easy action packed read.

Rage and Release, the third and final installment of the Fia Drake Trilogy is the perfect end to a whirlwind handful of weeks in the life of Fiametta Drake.

Picking up where Whiskey and Ink left off, we find Fia chained in a basement. Forced to put together a blurry chain of events that leads her to seek help from her friend and mentor, Zari and a few unexpected allies. In a race against the clock, Fia must rescue her beau before his mind is lost forever.

Reading through I was both bug-eyed and slack-jawed! I definitely wanted to throw my phone a couple of times as well!

Jensen does not disappoint, as always she had me rolling in emotions and wanting to know what happened next.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
